they perform! and they were formulated by a Vet. I lived in CA for a long time and have been aware of them since their initial formulation and the quality has not changed, but then again, I suspect their vet care hasn't diminished. It's been 12 years since I left CA, but Alamo Pintado and the Herthels were the GO TO Vets and when they formulated Platinum Performance, I got on board because of the quality and performance was demonstrated from the onset.
