I love the variety of classes offered as well as the times. The instructors are enthusiastic and knowledgeable, give clear instructions and emphasis safety and proper form.

The staff is so nice, the classes are great and most of all the Y is a great family friendly place we all enjoy!

I love that the Y has many locations. The West Chester Y has an excellent schedule of classes and while my main Y is Kennett Square (closest location), I go to WC Y each week for several classes. The instructors are all exceptionally nice, facility is clean, and best of all most classes stay in designated rooms. It is so nice not to have to share facility with other Y members when you are taking a class. This is a big plus over the Kennett Y where many of the group classes are in the gym and it is quite annoying to have to hear basketballs continuously throughout workout or kids yelling and having fun (which is what they should be doing), plus you never get to work on your form at Kennett if you are in certain classes because many of these classes are in the basketball gyms which don't have mirrors. I know this is due to the size of facility so I accept it but if the other West Chester were closer, I'd be going to West Chester.

I have a general comment about the Zumba classes.

I think it would be best if the instructors took the average age of participants into account when they select which songs to put on that class's playlist. Many do a great job with this; others not so much.

If the average age is 50, all that electronic dance music -- with no discernible melody and words you can't even understand despite the same few are repeated endlessly -- make it torture, not fun. Thump, thump, thump. urrrrgh.

Just my opinion. But I do see the overall energy level dip way down when those types of songs begin to play.

What I like most about my membership to the YMCA of the Great Brandywine Area is that I am a member of a network, all committed to providing me with the exercise facilities that I need in a spread out world. What I mean is, that I need a home base, and then I need satellites. The West Chester YMCA is one of my go to satellite locations, and I've benefited greatly from being able to use there facility.

I can find a group exercise class I like at almost any time of the day! I really enjoy the beautiful 10 lane pool, although I wish you would promote circle swimming. It allows more than two people to swim in a lane if necessary. Circle swimming is routine at other Ys.

No matter what mood I’m in there’s a class for me. If I’m feeling energetic I take ultimate cross training or cycle, if I’m tired I take yoga.

People who work there are very friendly. The facility doesn't get too over crowded and they have many fitness options to choose from. Locker room is nice and well kept.

Facilities have very accessible hours, many amenities, affordable resources such as the pool, and offer parents a date night two Saturdays a month.

Great services. Well kept training area/wellness center. Equipment up to date. Wonderful, friendly staff. Love the two pools (rec and lap). Great hours and option for outdoor pool in summer. I have been to several Y's and love West Chester. Also, administration/membership services is great. Job well done. Thanks for all you do!!!!
