Member Testimonials
My girls have always come home smiling and happy from YMCA camps.
Wish there was a member just for the the fitness room as I don’t swim or use the courts but am paying for them.
The West Chester Area Y is a wonderful organization and we love everything that they do for our family. Our children attend camp, preschool and Child Watch, and we use the gym and pool. This Y is beautifully clean and well maintained. The staff are all caring, friendly and competent. Thank you WCAY for all you do!
Safe environment; responsible counselors and a great setting.
I like the small groups and that its an affordable community.
Great offerings and staff has been wonderful.
I love the kids are getting pool time and outdoor time
My son has attended West Chest Y Summer Camp since age 5. He is always happy about all activities.
He enjoyed making new friends and the counselors are friendly and excellent!!
I appreciate and our family loves the "Y."
My girls always happy about all activities they love camp
Times available
The staff is friendly and supportive. The instructors always allow for “opportunity” throughout class. Many classes offered at various times to allow access to classes within your schedule.
They are fun, well-managed and inclusive.
Everything. The trainers, the people, the socialization
This is regarding Summer Camp 2022: This is our third year participating in camp. We have always been happy with the Y and its staff in handling our child (both through daycare and summer camp). This current year we found various things that are not so great. In years past drop off time was flexible beginning at 7:30 or 8am (I’m going off of memory and may be wrong about the exact time). Early registration emails reflected this drop off time. As camp approach we were emailed about SPARK and we informed that we have to pay to drop our kids off 10 minutes before 8:30. One of the attractions to camp was the drop off times and its flexibility. Work schedules had to be rearranged resulting in canceled clients on our part. Another concern is that counselors are allowed to play music with F words around the kids in the upper groups (Trailblazers). Recently, my youngest was written up for reading about calories on the nutrition labels of his lunch items to the other kids. I am all for disciplining my kid and being on the side of teachers and counselors when he acts up, but explaining to him how some of the things he’s getting in trouble about are not so bad but at the same time he must listen and respect his counselors is a difficult thing for a 6 year old to understand.
Very well organized and managed
I have enjoyed, but not taken advantage as much as should, the on demand classes.
Your Silver Sneakers class provides much needed muscular strengthening and flexibility for me in my senior years!
My daughter has attended Y Camp since age 3. It is her home away from home, and she looks forward to going back every summer. She was so excited when some of her favorite counselors returned this summer and remembered her from last year. She has enjoyed making new friends, learning songs, making crafts. She is excited about trying to earn her green wristband at the pool. In the afternoon when my husband picks her up, she doesn’t want to leave. She comes home dirty and tired. She says that means she had a good day.
The kids had so much fun and were kept engaged and busy all day outside!
Good trainer, facilities, timings and schedule
We have been delighted with summer camp program for our son. Its our first year with the program and we couldn't be happier. He comes home happy everyday! Counselors are great! Thank you
My son had a fear of letting anything above his neck touch the water. By the end of the two week session April, the INCREDIBLE swimming instructor, had him jumping in and placing his head underwater.
The outdoor programs are great. I feel that my kids are safe and they are meeting new friends.
I love the West Chester YMCA and my daughter has really enjoyed her swim class with Emma. The airport road facility is nicely maintained. I only even gave it a 9 instead of a 10 because the other West Chester facility on Chestnut is usually disgusting and dirty, so I can't give anyone an open-ended recommendation. I always have to warn them that the other West Chester building always smells terrible and the bathrooms are disgusting (usually out of soap and filthy walls, etc). Otherwise, we love the local YMCA :)
Our 6-year-old LOVED his 2 weeks at the YMCA of West Chester summer camp. I wish I'd signed him up for the whole summer. He loved the theme weeks, the activities, the counselors and the other campers.
My daughter loved her swimming lessons with Ms. Emma. She learned a lot in a short amount of time. thank you!
Swimming
There is a large variety of exercise classes and the instructors are great. Staff and members are so friendly. In addition to what you would expect at the YMCA I.e exercise and swimming, there are other activities such as bingo, a book club, weekly bridge games and computer classes. I am so happy I joined.
Employees are so friendly and the facility is always so nice and clean and everything in good repair.
