What does the Y do really well for me, well.... I have been a YMCA member for quite some time. I did not want just a place to go and sweat as I can do that from my home doing my honey do's. I wanted a place that could offer me more for my money as I like most others have a heard time letting loose of any....the Y rates are in my opinion very reasonable and the if you think they are too expensive for you when you inquired, then you did not ask enough questions from the person you were speaking too. The YMCA has so much to offer that it is really too much. Can I say that?
Once they are done explaining the company, their above average health benefits directed towards you alone with one on one workout programs with an instructor assigned to you exclusively. You make the appointment as to when you have time to work out and a qualified staff member will work you over or you would not be inquiring. Now this is for the serious adults and then the stuff for kids....WOW where do I start....you may want to take a breath just to keep up with all they have to tell you.
From their senior saints to the toddlers....they seem to have some sort of 10' rule because if you get in the 10' circle expect a friendly Hello and a smile as you walk by. They have never failed to be there when I have or question or a suggestion. You can even talk to the director if you so choose to...It is simply a place to relax and workout at my own pace.
I hope you come by someday and expect me to say Hello at the door and say Hi. :)
So if i had to answer the first question...they do the jobs they were hired to do and are extremely friendly people.

The pools and locker rooms are clean, the serpentine indoor track and available equipment great. Love kidwatch.

The life guards at the Parkville Community Center are much improved. They speak to the patrons and are very kind. The change is very welcomed!!!

Everything...customer service, location, parking, cleanliness, exercise options, social gatherings and other cool programs. The YMCA of greater Kansas City and the especially the Platte County Community Center North should be a flagship for other cities!

The building is very clean, well taken care of. New lighting is being installed on 2nd floor for the track area, yay! Staff is always friendly and informative. I love the monthly events for folks to gather and meet new members, share ideas (like winter Chili cookoff; meet the local chiropractor, etc) .
