Good instructors
Friendly staff
Always nice and clean
Well, the set up came with the building....the two instructors so far have been good, Vicki for water and Connie for yoga. Pilates has been hard and fast and so not the fault of the instructor exactly but she seems to be the one that has an agenda to be in a hurry to get a lot done. Talking about the core before and while doing exercises at a fairly brisk rate, for Pilates, doesn't mean people know or have had a chance to engage the core! She's nice, her knowledge and accomplishments are good and since the new training it's really amped up but....what happened to the core? Time to connect to the core more than one minute or none in the beginning of class? And stopping in the fast drill of exercises ( which, yes, she explains and demonstrates well and TALKS about using the core IF a person has had the opportunity to experience and connect to the core) to just take a moment, a minute to connect with the core. I'm not sure there's much, if any, talk about breathing, if there is, there isn't enough. Pilates, CORE, Pilates, CORE, when you have the core you venture into movement holding the core, checking in with the core during the exercise, between the exercises, building the core into each of them with a bridge of actual connection. I'm sure it is a challenge to teach beginning and more advanced students all at once but checking in with the core in a concentrated, visceral way for a few seconds, would not be a waste of anyone's time, really. Again, a very knowledgeable, educated instructor with a lot to offer and wanting to give so much and such a variety of exercises in a short session.
I really appreciate how communicative Hailey Kenkel has been with us and I love getting to be so involved, as a parent! I also love the positive atmosphere that's fostered to grow a love of athletics from a young age.
