I have been going to the YMCA just about my whole life and I think it is a great place. When I was a child my father took us there for swimming lessons and that experience always stayed with me. I thought the people who worked there were very nice and the instructors were patient and knowledgeable. When I got a little older and worked close to the downtown kansas city kansas YMCA I was able to buy a membership there and work out on my lunch breaks. I really liked this YMCA and all it had to offer. Later when I went to the junior college in kicks I bought a membership at the YMCA off state avenue. I really liked this YMCA too, it was very nice and all the workout options were perfect. Later when I lived in Platte City Missouri I was able to get a membership to the YMCA there . The people who work there are great, the trainers were excellent, the pools were great, walking path was perfect and classes were excellent too. Now I am old and live back in Kansas and have a AOA membership in Bonner Springs, Ks. As with all the other YMCA's, the people who work there are very nice, helpful, professional and knowledgeable. It is always clean, well organized and very well managed, the equipment is just what I want, classes are very good, trainers are helpful and knowledgeable. I enjoy going there and whenever I have a question someone is always available to help me and they have the classes and equipment and walking path that I want in a exercise facility. Also, one of the main things thats drawn me to the YMCA and have always respected/appreciated about the YMCA are the programs and the very dedicated people and compassion they have to develop ways to help people not only with weight problems but to promote good will in the community. They genuinely care about their communities and do good things for their surrounding neighborhood families. Thank you YMCA for all the years of my life I've worked out there and made friends there. Its been a great helpful healthful experience and a lot of fun. Bless you all and hope everyone has very merry holidays!

All the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The three morning water fitness instructors, Peggy, Diane, and Kirstin, go out of their way to remember our names and welcome us to the class. All the other class members are friendly also, and I look forward to coming to class every day.
The facility is clean and well maintained and it's inexpensive, so all around it's a great experience.

We love our Bonner Springs YMCA and the friends we have made there! It is an inclusive environment where we encourage each other to be the best version of ourselves that we can be. I am so thankful to have a great gym so close to home!

Love the pool. It's long and deep and not crowded. I would prefer to have a steam sauna though
I'm always greeted cheerfully and checked in cheerfully! Any questions I have get answered specifically and warmly! While during this part of the school year, I often walk at the high school, you can bet I'll be coming there over the winter break!

I LOVE the early morning water aerobics class on M-W-F. If it was offered Tuesday and Thursday also, I would be there (after my knee replacement recovery that is.

I love the water aerobics classes. I am having hip pain and am not able to walk around the track like I would like to. The instructors and the lifeguards are friendly. I'm so thankful there is the 6:30am class. Wish it was everyday! I also attend the 8:30am class when I can and love that one as well.

I would say the one thing that is hard to do is to join the workout classes when you are new to working out. I tried a number of classes and the instructors have been doing the classes for so long with the same people that when someone new comes in some of them don't think about or consider that when you are new you don't have a clue what you are doing and that you can't do it at the pace as everyone else. It's not that they weren't nice but for most of the classes I tried I didn't return because I couldn't do it and in one instance my back hurt afterward because I was doing it wrong and wasn't shown how to do that move correctly.
I did enjoy trying the line dancing class but only was able to do it once so far because I was off work that day. I'll try that one again when I can.
There are a few classes that I'd still like to try that might be more my speed and work in my schedule.

Easy to get a lane in lap pool
I workout at 5 a.m. M-F, and am always greeted by the most friendly Y employee, Pat. She is happy, welcoming, and knowledgeable about the facility and services. She's a gem! And so are the members and instructors! My workout friend group is the best.
Community, support
I love piyo and Cassie is a great instructor! I also enjoy swimming in the lap pool and am happy more lanes have opened up.
It's just a fun, frienly place to workout. It's not packed all day long. It's got friendly staff and members. There's plenty of equipment. I like the classes and the times that are offered. The trainers are awesome.
They ONLY thing I would change is maybe better cleaning of the floors. Theres been times in the group training rooms that there's sticky stains on the floor. Other than that I love the Bonner Y!
