We have had very good luck with our High Efficiency Water Softener that was installed back in 2016. In June, I noticed the water level in the brine tank was high and that the unit date/time was off. I reset the date/time and called for a service tech to come look at the unit. He ran it through a regeneration cycle and looked at settings and said everything was working properly.
In the months after, I noticed that the salt level was falling much faster than it used to. For 9 yrs the unit would go through about 5 50 lb bags of salt per year, after I refilled the salt tank in August I noticed the unit had used over 1/2 the salt by the middle of September. I called Culligan again and while not happy I had to pay for another service call fee discounted by $25, the tech noted that the hardness level was set over twice as high as it should have been. He also said that he has seen a power blip cause the settings to change without damaging the unit itself. He tested the soft and hard water, reset the hardness level, and did a thorough check of the unit. Everything looks to be running properly now.
Everyone is very polite and helpful at Culligan. Overall we are very happy with our softener and the service we have received.
