My high school sophomore has been a student at Mathnasium Portsmouth since July 2018. We could not be more pleased with their amazing program. Doug Stearns and his exceptional tutorial staff create a warm, welcoming, friendly environment for learning. My daughter always looks forward to her sessions and has learned far more from this program than from any private tutor that we have had in the past. For a student with learning struggles, math can be very intimidating. The tutors at Mathnasium are consistently insightful and encouraging, unwaveringly patient, and sensitive to student struggles. They know how to empower students. They build not only their students' mathematical abilities but also their confidence. I only wish that I knew about this wonderful program years ago.
Mathnasium has been invaluable to us both in content and flexibility. Passing of higher level math courses would not have been possible for this foreign student transitioning to a new life in the United States. Because he really enjoys competitive sports, the willingness of the program to adjust to practice and games was very appreciated.

My 10 year old daughter loves to go she has improved greatly especially in her confidence. My 15 year old son that is very good in math went over the summer to prepare for 10th grade and he also didn’t mind going and it was a great introduction to the advance geometry he is now doing.
Mathnasium has been a great way for our son to get his tune-up on math keeps him on the straight and narrow to success.
Mathnasium and Doug were absolutely wonderful. My daughter went there for her
senior year of high school and her grades were always in 90s. i would definitely
tell parents/students who are having math issues to contact Mathnasium and give it
a shot. You will see the grades rise and the students be happy as they have
the math explained to them one on one.
The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and really work with my son to help him understand the work. Doug and all the teachers are positive influences in my sons life and I appreciate all they do!
Mathnasium helped our daughter get over 100 points increase on her SAT Math score!! That says it all!! Their encouragement - constancy and skill training helped her reduce her test stress and better each time took the SAT.

Our son was struggling in his math class and in that same year he brought his grade up by 2 full marks and scored a B on his exam. excellent group, fantastic tutors, one on one tutoring, excellent for the students and many different times open, can work around your schedules. brings the kids grades up to A's and never any complaining about going to tutoring. great place
My Child loves the one on one, he states that it's not like school, its more personal, and therefore learning is easier and less stressful, he actually enjoys learning in this manner.

I have been happy with the results of Mathnasium, my son has had difficulty with math for many years, your program has been able to teach these concepts in a way that he finally is able to understand. Our son went up 120 pts on his first SAT vs. his math score the year prior on his PSAT. We’re thrilled. The location is convenient and their system is cost and time efficient and gets concrete resuts. We will be back for some refresher sessions before he takes the SAT next fall.
My boys love going to Mathnasium. We use it primarily as an "enrichment" experience. Doug and his team make Math fun and exciting and my 10 and 12 year old look forward to it every week. I feel we get very personalized attention and feedback - which makes me feel part of the "family". I would highly recommend this!
My daughter had a D first semester, and now has brought it up to an A- after 5 months. We are very impressed!
I love Mathanasium and my kids absolutely love it. I do think, however, they should have Sunday hours, longer Sat and longer weekday hours. I know of other parents who go elsewhere because of the somewhat limited hours. My .02
My daughter 11 goes every week she enjoys going and it really helps her my son 15 that dies great in math goes in the summer to prepare for the following school year. So happy I discovered this place
