Jim Ross, the owner of the Lorton Mathnasium, is wonderful! He is professional, friendly, knowledgeable, accommodating, caring, thoughtful, and you feel like he is one of your family members. What we like is the way they go about teaching math, which is ensuring that the student understands and practices enough before they assess. If the student reached the desired outcome, they move on to the next concept, if not, they continue practice until they get it. It helps students to be confident in math and comfortable with concepts. Sometimes, students even become ahead of their class in math. They also have a reward system and insensitive, which encourages students to do even better. I wish I started my daughter on it as soon as they opened, but I am happy we made the decision to join.
