Mathnasium has been incredible for our children. This is our sixth year with Mathnasium in Newton Centre. Our children have been challenged at their individual levels, and their tutors have been very supportive and encouraging.
Unlike other programs, Mathnasium is not about rote memorization. Mathnasium tutors teach their students look at a problem and think through the various ways the problem could be solved. Students are given the tools to look at a problem in different ways so that if/when they get stuck, they won't get frustrated and shut down; instead they will move on to another way to solve the problem.
We are big fans of the teaching method; a max of three students per tutor. So every child is receiving the individual attention that they need. We can't say enough about the tutors and leadership at the program.
My daughter benefitted greatly from Mathnasium. She gained self-confidence in her ability to solve math problems. She is now a 9th grader and is taking honors Math! I would highly recommend Mathnasium to all kids.
One of the things that we realized as parents is that Math is a subject that can color how our children feel about learning in general. It is a subject that many people struggle with. Those struggles can affect one’s self esteem and self confidence in learning me w things. Both of our daughters - 11 & 13 years old are excelling at the top of their class. They often tell us that the things they are learning in math at school are things they fully understand because they have already covered those topics in Mathnasium! I don’t think that it is inexpensive, but I feel without any doubt that it is an incredible value and totally worth it! We are so happy with the quality and results! I can’t recommend it more!
My 3 kids actually look forward to math tutoring because Mathnasium personalizes each child’s curriculum to help them where needed and also enrich them in other areas.
Dylan (and that quitter Anthony...haha) has been really great. They are thoughtful, flexible, and proactive. The tutors have really helped out my kids, whom are on opposite ends of the table: one struggles to like math and the other enjoys it naturally. It's great to find ONE place that is organized and can accommodate both types of students.
The tutors at Mathnasium are caring and interested in each child. My grandson liked and trusted each tutor very much. His relationships with the tutors motivated him to learn the math. The math instruction focuses on learning one level before moving on to the next, and repeating areas that may be forgotten. Regular evaluations of concepts learned are detailed and clear, and outline goals for the next learning period. Most importantly, staff foster a spirit of community in the work area such that students look forward to being there. I highly recommend Mathnasium.

We all see the edge and confidence that it gives them in the classroom. It began as my choice to boost their math skills (during Covid), and it has now become their choice to continue with the program. That is a win in my books!

The administrators at Mathnasium are very child focused. They know our child’s needs individually and initiate communication with us on a regular basis based on clear, helpful assessments. They are very caring. The tutors relate well to our child such that our child has felt valued and enjoys engaging with each tutor. The math instruction is clear and built on prior learning. When our child is having a tough day, the tutors are very understanding. We have been with Mathnasium for about 3 years. Before the pandemic, when the instruction was in the classrooms, there was a sense of community and belonging which I am sure will continue as we, hopefully, put covid behind us.
My three kids all have benefited from lessons with Mathnasium. The tutors are adept at teaching at each child’s level and enriching them when the child is ready to take on more challenging work.
We tried two competing math providers (Kumon and RSM) before finding Mathnasium. As parents, we love the flexibility in scheduling our sessions; we found the 30 minutes of virtual (what we call "math blast") to be very effective in retaining our kid's attention. Our kids love how fun the teachers make it.
The teachers are very attentive and know how to tailor lesson plans to your child’s specific needs. My kids find the lessons engaging.
Our children have been working with Mathnasium for the past 4+ years and it has been a wonderful supplement to their math work at school. The tutors have been great and our children enjoy who they work with.
We initially started working with Mathnasium for two reasons: 1) to provide extra support to our daughter, who was having a challenging time in math, and 2) to provide more challenging work to our son, who was bored in math at school. Both of these needs were met and both of our children feel very confident in their math skills. We are very happy with our experience through Newton's Mathnasium center!

Both of my daughters (14) and (12) have loved their experiences at Mathnasium. It helps them enjoy math more as well as giving them more confidence which helps them do well in math at school. I am very grateful for the online learning they have received during the pandemic as well.
Hi, Mathnasium has been fantastic! My only piece of feedback is that I had expected (and would like) to receive more clarity on how my children are progressing. Even just an email update every few weeks or even once a month with their progress and 1 sentence about their level engagement and any areas of concern would be much appreciated.
I think the 30 minute sessions are PERFECT for a six year old. Very easy to get Livvy to participate.
Our daughters have thrived with individual and highly knowledgeable instruction they receive at Mathnasium. They feel more confident in school because they feel more prepared! We are very happy that we chose to use Mathnasium and will continue to do so! They do a wonderful job of teaching and keeping our children motivated.
We really appreciate the one on one math support from Mathnasium. It gives us a little breathing room as schools have pulled back what they can do in our hybrid format.

All three kids participate in math and don’t groan about it! We feel better about them getting one on one time with someone who understands where they need to get to in their practice. I do wish they wouldn’t text me at 6am, but we can get used to anything. It is very helpful to have all the reminders for sessions and practices though. I appreciate that.

My kids both love taking Mathnasium because it is interactive and most importantly, FUN. There are less distractions compared to a class full of other kids. It is really geared toward your child and their progress. It is easy to access and easy for them to keep track of their work on the links. Definitely would recommend for anyone who wants a little more help or a challenge!
Our daughter caught up months of math thx to your structured approach. Especially during the lock down and school closure mathnasium is a blessing for us.
The tutors are highly skilled in terms of teaching math and also in terms of understanding young children and adolescents. Our grandson liked each tutor personally and respected them as teachers. The tutors started each session asking him how he was doing in general, and if there was any homework he would like help with. They really listened to him and we’re very caring. He was engaged in learning the math because the tutors were interested in him, and because the process was well structured. Because of his ADHD we decided he needed a 1:1 tutor, otherwise we would have stayed with Mathnasium indefinitely.
