Mathnasium of The Woodlands has been a great place for 2nd grader. It helped him understood basic and fundamental math skills, and it was all done in a way that is very easy for him to grasp and retain material, because it was explained to him the way math makes sense. There is improved not only his confidence but this year all his math scores so far are 100.
Mathnasium has been good for both of my kids as they lost significant ground during the pandemic. While not always the place they want to go after school it's helping and we're seeing signs of improvement in the classroom.
Randy is fantastic. Committed to the success of the kids, knows them all by name and takes genuine pride in their accomplishments. The tutors themselves seem happy to be there and my daughter likes all of them.
My daughter enjoys the instructors. They have covered with her things that the teacher doesn't have enough time to cover (limited class time). She likes the instructors a lot and the encouragement when she doesn't understand something.
Nothing is better than Mathnasium. Owners are super friendly and willing to help all the time. Staff are very professional and a lot of progress with my kid.

I think the numbers speak for themselves. My daughter has shown significant improvement over a short span of time. Working closely with the tutors has also increased her confidence to participate more in class. I like the team approach. It also helps that she actually enjoys attending now.

My daughter hated math! Mathnasium has made math fun for her. She loves coming to her sessions and learning from the instructors.
Positives:
When looking through my kids' notebooks, I see that they're practicing a variety of math problems and making progress by completing assignments. My children do not complain (too much) about going to Mathnasium. They see some of their friends inside and teenagers, which helps to motivate them. When they do not understand a problem, they can get assistance from one of the instructors. It's also very convenient and close to home.
Negatives:
My children's math grades and MAP Math test scores have not improved, although I'll continue to monitor. They're getting a lot of candy from Mathnasium (large portions of skittles and starbursts), but they have several cavities and want to eat their candy before having dinner. It ends up frustrating them and frustrating me, when I tell them - no more candy. Maybe the points they earn can buy them healthy alternatives? Or smaller portions of candy? Just one piece of candy, and my kids would be happy - they don't need a bag of it. Sometimes, I also feel that they don't work for the entire hour because they're usually already finished and waiting on me, when I arrive to pick them up. Under old management, they used to leave a few minutes later - so it felt like they got their full hour's worth and money's worth.

Hunter has not only made vast improvements in a short amount of time but he truly enjoys it. He loves the staff so much! I always get excited about my post-sesion text updates. They go above and beyond with every student every day!

Our son struggles in math, but he loves going to Mathnasium! I think it is because of the relationships the staff has built with him, the process they use to teach that keeps him feeling like he is succeeding, and the rewards he earns. It is just such a positive environment, which has made a huge impact on his ability to learn through his struggles.
Mrs Maria and the tutors at the Aliana Center are very professional and helpful. My daughter's grades improved greatly while attending the center. I highly recommend Mathnasium.

My ADHD child has always struggled in Math and for the last 2 years we've been trying to catch him up. We did a good job but it was a struggle. Now he's really catching up and Loves going. He loves his tutors and looks forward to going twice a week. He has accomplished so much in just a few weeks. I'm so glad we put him in it, and worth every penny!
