Experienced teachers
I love everything! The kids really learn about performing (keep going when you mess up, interacting on stage, talking with the audience, etc.) in addition to the technical of instruments/voice, etc. Also, the entire team is AMAZING! This includes the teachers, the producers, and the administrators. Everything runs so smoothly. I don't know how Danielle and Maggie keep it all going! Love, love, love!!
All instructors and staff are very friendly and inviting. My son gets excited for his lesson and band practice every week. He’s constantly asking me to play the songs he’s learning on Spotify.
The school gets the kids so excited about music and my son has learned and grown so much being at SOR
Everyone is so kind and encouraging! It’s just such a great place to take your kiddo knowing that they will be learning in such a positive environment.
It's a wonderful place for youths to grow and learn to love all types of music
Great instructors & and a constantly on-the-ball, approachable, friendly staff. We live a mile away from the Park Ridge SOR location, but have been happy to make the drive the Evanston these past several years because of the instruction and support our kids have received.
Excellent and caring teachers and staff who treat the students with respect in a nurturing environment.
Nice teachers, engaging learning environment, clear communication.
Great and efficient
Fun yet challenging learning environment
The students interact in bands!
The performance aspect, but I do very, very, very much wish more performances were in Evanston given this is N Evanston located school. It would allow more friends and family to come out and support - not only the musicians, but would bring revenue to the venue as well. A win / win. Please try harder to make this happen.
The instructors of the bands and the private lessons have instilled so much confidence in my children! We love School of Rock!
Teachers are great, my son loves his private lessons and band practices, and the shows really demonstrate how much the kids are --learning. Overall, excellent experience!
My girls love it!!1
I love that it’s given my teen a new group of friends and a “third place” doing something the love. The performances are amazing.
I love that the kids get to do their final shows in real venues and practice working together as a group, working with an audience, etc. Those experiences have been wonderful for my son.
I do think there could be improvement on the social aspect of the bands. My son didn't know many of the band members' names (in more than one band). Since the ages are mixed, there is a real opportunity for the older members to mentor the younger members in a team-like atmosphere. I think that opportunity has been mostly missed and could easily be implemented.
Thank you!
Kind no-pressure teachers
The kids learn so quickly and gain confidence. I enjoy hearing my kids play.
It feels like a family! My kid loves going to lessons, bands, and just hanging out!
Very friendly staff and teachers. My son looks forward to his lessons and band every week.
Our family loves School of Rock! The instructors & staff are fantastic! The experience of learning to play instruments in a rock band setting makes it fun for my kids. They look forward to their lessons and band practice. Being up on stage has built up their confidence in ways that typical instrument lessons could not. I am very satisfied with School of Rock and regularly recommend their program.
It's a great way for kids to gain confidence and form bonds with their peers.
They are very flexible and the instructors instill a love of music through that flexibility.
