They are amazingly good at inspiring creative, team-enabled fun & lifelong love for performance & rock that - wait for it...delivers kids with deep understanding and application of music theory. SoR is building a new generation of savvy intellectual rockers who will be better selves, no matter what they do (but, hopefully still gleefully jamming with their friends).

Highly recommend School of Rock for music and vocal lessons, and for their performance program. My older son has played guitar with his bandmates at well-known music venues and made great friends through this wonderful organization.
This is a great program. My son has excelled in keyboards. It's wonderful they have real shows at great local venues, so friends can come. Only thing I can imagine they could improve is to have a sound professional, so when the kids learn the music in the program, they can expect good sound at the venue in order to hear themselves and for the audience to hear them.
Variety of programs and combination of lessons with band performances.
The hands on experience of various instruments at age 6 is extremely valuable. He is very gifted musically but gets bored easily, so the group setting and changing up instruments is perfect for him.
Our son had so much fun during his first experience with School of Rock! He learned a lot in a short amount of time because of the awesome format and teachers! We’ll be back!

Both my boys had a blast at your week-long camp. Learned a new song each day, all while learning the basics of drums and guitar. Will definitely sign them up next summer!
My children are very fortunate to receive private instruction from the best musicians of San Diego. Not only that, but through their performance program they also get the opportunity to build their identity and expression as musicians, grow their collaboration, increase discipline, experience, and confidence in stage.
The Band and Performance, working as a group offers a social development aspect to learning music, on top of the musical benefits with playing with others. A lot of music lessons are one-on-one which doesn't offer a lot for social interaction with others or for encouraging a sense of competition.

The staff and instructors at this School of Rock location are top notch and truly become mentors to their students. Both of our daughters attended this school and it's been a huge part of their lives that imparted so many lessons that carry over into school and personal life.

I like that the School of Rock establishes an ongoing weekly lesson schedule between instructor and student. If there is no instructor that day, they substitute someone else in. In the past I have found working with musicians a bit tricky because a lot of them flake. School of Rock works as a team to teach the kids. I am also extremely impressed with the Performance program. There is no greater motivation to practice knowing that you will be on stage with your band. Everyone there is so sweet with the kids. It is a very well run business. Its location in Liberty Station means it's easy to go out for dinner or shopping while you're there. Music is the best gift you can give a child!
