They meet them at their current skill level but encourage and teach to help them grow and develop along the way. They create such an awesome, team-oriented atmosphere where instructors and band-mates alike are each other’s biggest fans and live out immense support and encouragement for one another. If you’re looking for a great music-learning experience, I would totally recommend SOR. An awesome experience.
I absolutely adore the incredible atmosphere that School of Rock cultivates. The moment you step inside, you can genuinely sense the deep passion and love for music that permeates this place. The teachers here are exceptional; their commitment to bringing out the best in their students is truly commendable.
My kids love their time at the School of Rock. They not only feel welcome and respected, but they also experience a profound sense of belief in their potential to become musical stars one day. This support and encouragement serve as a powerful motivator, inspiring my children to continuously strive for excellence.
However, one aspect that I believe could be improved is the sound isolation system. While the overall experience is outstanding, the soundproofing could use some enhancement. It can be somewhat distracting for students trying to sing or practice their instruments when they can hear someone else performing in an adjacent room. Addressing this issue would further elevate the learning environment and ensure a more focused and undisturbed musical education for all students.
It provides another community for my son outside of school. Love that it gets him on stage to promote confidence! And - it's Rock music! Love going to the shows!

We love how encouraging the teachers are and how engaged our daughter is during her lessons! She has grown so much in 6 short months!
They are fun, and a healthy outlet for teens
Just finished the first adult program and performance at Hinsdale school of rock. Staff across the schools is top notch and a special shout out to John Nugent for helping us cross the fishing line and making our first adult performance program a resounding success!

I really like all the people at school of rock! Each of the staff members I have had the pleasure to meet with, are always amazingly nice, patient, professional, and knowledgeable about anything that needs to be known about music! Music is a lot harder I think that many people realize, and at school of rock, they make it the best time ever every single week for the kids to learn, and something to look forward to! I couldn’t really rave enough about this place it’s a great place for all ages, young and old!

My child learned and performed 3 songs in 1 week and really felt like she was part of a band. She had a great time at band camp!
Not only is my son learning to play drums, he's come out of his shell, it's teaching him to be more confident in himself.
