I did school or rock since I was sixteen now I am twenty and school of rock has been been fun to be in so I can show my talent and not feel shy or out of place. Also, I made friends with my teacher's and the people in my music group. I am so happy for the show that will happen pretty soon and more to come.
My kid loves it! He looks forward to going every week. I love that he is able to try out different instruments without having to necessarily commit. Also, we have gone on several vacations and the office assistant has been great at allowing us to move our weekly lesson to another day of the week as a makeup class. I would highly recommend.

It was a great experience for my son. The teachers created a positive environment and set some high expectations for the kids to deliver against which was great. We thoroughly enjoyed the live concert at the end of the week. A huge confidence booster!
My daughter loved it there and can see her talk about Music already. My passion to learn music, wasn't a reach then, trying for my baby and she is loving it. The teachers and school are more responsible for her interest. Much Appreciated.

It's an amazing experience. Live band practice. Yes, I hit the wrong note, or chord but over time I will learn muscle and finger memory.

I would definitely recommend the rookies program for any kid. My daughter loves her time there. I just wish they could sing since that's what she likes to do but she enjoys playing with all the instruments.
My 13 year old doesn't want to do much but he loves going to guitar lessons at the school of rock because it's cool, and the teachers are cool.
We love the set up of the program in general (separate lessons, then rehearsal) and the teachers are amazing!
The communication between all involved is great!
However, the only reason I did not give a 10" is because although COVID continues to be an issue, I feel that allowing only 1 parent to see the culminating show is not necessary anymore. There is no discount on the price of either the program or the ticket to the show. I feel that others would be more inclined to join SOR if this was not the case.

My son has been taking lessons and a participant in shows for 4 years !! It has kept him sane and busy through Covid. The staff at the hinsdale SOR has changed but he has lasting relationships with many of his instructors.
That the program is centered around popular rock songs that kids feel exited about playing. Also, I like how they play with other kids and play along with other instruments as a band.
Kids love it.
Events are fun.
Knowing the schedule in advance is helpful.
