My kids love SOR and the chance to play music with other kids in practice and in the end-of-program gigs. As a side benefit they are expanding their musical interests and improving their technical abilities.

My teacher Tim Stone and director Alex Swift are true professionals and outstanding at their jobs. I cannot say enough great things about the Fairfield School of Rock. I also love the tremendous positive energy and encouragement from all of the other employees. This is a great franchise staffed with highly qualified positive individuals. Double everyone's pay!! I think most (and perhaps ALL) of my band mates in my program feel the same way!
The approach used by School of Rock legitimately fosters the desire in the students to play. They get inspired to learn and perform together. The vibe at School of Rock in Bedford is good (though it was even better prior to the fresh paint). My child cherishes the friendships made there and has reached out to others to join School of Rock. One has already started taking lessons.
I took music lessons at a conventional music school and recitals were our only performance but they were all solos of classical pieces. I never had any input of which song or artist I wished to perform and though I usually did fine, I was never excited or pumped up for the performance. However, when I was in orchestra / band in middle school, I got to play Blues Brothers and Santana with the other orchestra / bandmates. That was fun and fun is why School of Rock does so well.
The feel of the “community”. Everyone is very nice.
I love that I can practice with a band. It’s very different using what you learn in a classroom vs a group of other musicians. It’s a great experience.
It gives me an opportunity to improve my skills and actually play in a band and perform without having to form my own band or invest in PA equipment. Its really fun to rehease and see the songs come together and play in the shows.
The SOR programs are instructional, consistent and fun. My girls have grown so much on their instruments. Thank you School of Rock Bedford!
