The teachers are all incredibly engaged and committed to their craft. They have excellent emotional intelligence and can motivate a group of little kids through middle-aged adults.

The teachers put you in a band and you can practice your favorite instrument also you get to make your own band name. The teachers are nice and I love it there hope you will too🎉

Fantastic staff, well organized and fun!
The kids are learning how to play instruments while also learning to play along with a large band and learning stage presence. It really exposes them to music they may not otherwise listen to on their own giving them more styles to draw from if they ever write their own music later in life. I really wish they had this program when I was a kid.
This was a fantastic experience and has motivated me to pursue music in my community even more than before. In particular, Essie's motivation and communication, Tony's skill level and instruction, and Nathan's dedication and passion were all very encouraging, along with the one-on-one communication that each provided. The people I met and the bonds that were formed are some of the best I've made. I would love to spend more time at School of Rock and maybe even work there someday! Thank y'all so much.
The concerts
I love seeing my child grow with each new challenge. My son has been attending School of Rock for about a year. He started with guitar and has added vocals. He has performed in two of the seasonal performances so far. The instructors do an amazing job of giving him songs that are challenging but achievable with dedication and practice. It seems like the instructors will even add complexity to the song if the kid seems to be getting it quickly and is up to the challenge. Every time my son gets a new song, he definitely seems to be nervous about it. And then over the weeks with his classes, rehearsals, and practicing at home, I can see his confidence grow to the point where when I check in how he’s feeling about the song, he doesn’t even seem to remember that he was once nervous about learning it! Beyond the musical abilities and performance experience the kids gain, School of Rock has helped my kid learn about the importance of practice for building competence and confidence in any area. We’re really happy that we decided to invest time and money into School of Rock. I personally love the way the year is structured with three seasons leading up to a show. The school curriculum and processes are well organized, and the staff are all friendly, smart, and passionate about their jobs.
The idea that the private lessons are meant to prepare the kids for the band performance gives them motivation and adds interest that make them want to continue playing and get better. They want to be better to get more roles, it’s a lot more interesting than just playing by themselves, and the n top of that they gain self confidence from belonging to a group and performing on stage. It really gives them something they can be proud of.

School of Rock is a welcoming place for all kids to come and develop all sorts of skills, not just musical--though they will learn those too! We have been very pleased with the activities and offerings from Silver Spring School of Rock and my teen looks forward to his lessons and groups and shows! Bravo!

Fantastic, upbeat, friendly and involved camp director and staff. Welcoming environment. Beautiful, spacious, nicely decorated, & updated lobby with lots of seating. Building interior is newer and well maintained, (not falling into disrepair.) Helpful information from staff at the check-in desk, happy to answer questions. Well run and operated camp. The lineup and setlist was done thoughtfully with each player's skills and interests carefully included. Everyone gets a part so even if they're multiple guitarists, for example, each camper can have a cool part in their song. Camp performance venue was classy and professional & on a REAL stage. Sound checks done before each song so there are minimal technical difficulties. Different student lineups for every song, (no groups repeating songs!). Staff standing-by to adjust mics and help performers along during the show. After attending several different franchise SOR camps, S.J. Alameda location is the best run location, by miles. Rock on!
I love the programs. The staff a very nice and helpful.
Instructors make all the difference. My instructor is wonderful, patient, and makes learning easy, only criticism I have of the program is the expense. Monthly fees are very expensive and you guys charge over $100 more than Guitar Center and other competitors. Perhaps adjust the cost to remain competitive for customers with other organizations/private instructors.
With such great instructors and opportunities, SOR Bellevue is just such a cool program for kids. Not only do they learn to play (awesome) music, but every kid we’ve seen go through SOR gains so much confidence and finds a place to be themselves. Love it!
Really fun program. My 10 YO enjoyed it and looked forward to camp each day! End of week concert was AWESOME!

The front staff is very helpful! The teachers are patient and give good feedback after sessions. Nathan is a superstar in putting the shows together. My daughter loves School of Rock!
