The lesson + band + performance structure
I love that my child is encouraged to explore music, discover what he likes to listen to and to play. My son sings and dances around the house now like never before and he always wants to listen to music in the car instead of playing his video games. We had a chance to see the older kids play at Carmel Fest and my son was entranced - he definitely wants to be on that stage. My son has always been outgoing and confident, but I can see his confidence growing and he is proud of himself, which makes my heart so happy.
Kids feel very comfortable there. It allows them to come out of thier shell and perform with confidence.
What's not to love?!
Fun, learning about great music, encouraging and inviting atmosphere! There's no limit to what you can do here. My musician is learning about rock, jazz and being part of a team/band.
There is motivation to learn so many songs! Of course, there's life skills - teaching musicians how to take care of equipment, set up for shows and performance tips.
My musician is ALWAYS asking for more -- 3 nights a week isn't enough! And that song writing class -- we have to find time for that soon!
My son LOVED his experience, and we are in awe of all that School of Rock was able to do with the kids in a span of a week. The end show was phenomenal, and our son was oozing in excitement and confidence. Thank you to all the staff at the School of Rock for your enthusiasm and for your excellent instruction. Amazing!
What I liked about School of Rock Mamaroneck is that my son without speaking English, since we live in Mexico, was integrated and he learned 6 songs! That’s very good for 5 days of work!!
The atmosphere is very inviting and open to all sorts of personalities! As a parent I enjoyed my time waiting with others and talking with the owners and I know my kid enjoyed meeting other kiddos and learning about music!
Friendly atmosphere
We were referred to you by a family member (Mike, Julia, Henry Mariani). Although our sample has only been a one week camp, our son Olin thoroughly enjoys the program, the instructors and enthusiasm encasing the school. We will be researching additional programs for him at the Norwood-SOR.

Best week of summer by far. My boys had so much fun and learned SO MUCH! We can't wait to start programs next. School of Rock is amazing. The quality instructors, professionalism and genuine care for these budding artists was totally unexpected. If your child loves music, this is where they need to be. I'm so happy I found them. If I could rate higher than a 10, I would!!
I like the use of colored stickers to represent music notes on real instruments to make it easier for the younger kids to understand. Once they put it all together and hear it form a song I think It gives them confidence and gets them excited to keep learning.
The instructors are amazing. Their respect for the students, and love of music, clearly comes across. I also think it’s great that my son, who is passionate about music, has had the opportunity to not only improve on guitar, but explore other instruments as well. School of Rock Princeton is one of his favorite places to be

I am currently in the adult band and having so much fun.
This is the first time I have played in a band. Prior to joining School of Rock I played and practiced with backing tracks and have been taking private lessons for a year.
When I went to School of Rock to see what it was all about one of the instructors made a comment to me that has stuck in my head.
He said in baseball you practice hitting, throwing, fielding and you practice those skills so that you can get in the game.
It’s the same thing with instruments, we practice music theory, scales, techniques take lessons so that we can play in the band.
Playing in the band at School of Rock is the reward for the hard work of practice and lessons.
It's been great to have my son learn how to play music on songs that interest him. We did a week long camp, as recommended by his guitar teacher. Because of the instruction there, Daniel is now asking for his lessons to come from there. This does have the blessing of his current teacher because his current teacher does not have the outlet Daniel needs to continue in music. I love that they are embracing his love for music where he is at and it would not have an avenue to grow if it wasn't for the approach School of Rock takes with it's students. In particular, Daniel needs this rock band approach to stay motivated to learn and take on harder skills. Thank you School of Rock!

The teachers are great at helping us students find ways to get over our roadblocks in learning new things. All the students of all ages seem great and supportive of all the fellow music lovers. It is a great community, and supportive in our learning path.
