My son love so much the School of Rock. The teachers are absolutely amazing. We highly recommend this school to any kid or teen that wants to learn more about music and different instruments.
Other than some behavior problems with other kids in the performance groups that my daughter was in, that were never handled or addressed, and just continued even after we complained about it, my daughter had a great experience. As a teacher, I think that perhaps a behavior contract with children who do not take their part in a band seriously might be a good idea. My daughter practiced and practiced and practiced and Worked really hard, whereas there were other children that did not work very hard and the rest of the band suffered for it.
The teachers are excellent and really enjoy helping the kids have small early 'wins' to build confidence in their playing. Jake is a fantastic teacher who has helped my son improve his technique dramatically. The performance program celebrates all levels of skill and again, encourages kids to practice hard and enjoy themselves. Learning to play music is powerful when accompanied by the joy of playing with other folks. It turns music into a 'team sport' early on in children's educational process so they can feel the benefit of it all coming together sooner than later. School of Rock celebrates this love of music and fosters this connection for young people. The North Haven program is doing innovative things including having the performance groups do gigs beside the year-end show which the kids really appreciate. Also, appreciate the inclusiveness of the School of Rock North Haven community.

I'm a member of the adult band. So while this is an awesome opportunity to meet other amateur musiciands and singers and play together, what I really like is watching the incredible talents of the kids they've developed. The spirit inside the building is one of constant excitement about "what's next?" Every lesson or band practice is potentially a breakthrough moment and everyone, teachers and students, exudes that.
They allowed child to really showcase his talents. He gets to work with peers and performs in public. There is a real variety of music genres offered.
You have great programs that offer a wide range of ability and interest. Your teachers are nice and helpful and tailor the experience to individual needs. You also attract nice participants. Great place to foster friendships which is hard to do as we get older. Thank you, SOR! - Name removed

All the teachers I have met are wonderful. V child centred, very safe, very encouraging of their students and all very passionate about what they do. I'm very impressed and appreciate all that they do.
All-star behaviors are really important. Adult musician mentorship is priceless. Performing music kids want to play and their friends want to hear is key.
