The model of teaching a student how to be a musician vs standard style lessons is a much more powerful and effective model.
The programs offer a wide variety of musical choices. The days and times work well for our schedules. The staff and teachers are fantastic! This is an excellent program.
Most of all, we like the people and the inclusive atmosphere Etti and his team create. Then, it's the program and the music. School of Rock is a lot of fun, but in the process of all this fun, we see our kid learning how to contribute to a team (a band), respond adaptively and recognize the contributions of others. It's awesome and it really is a rocker Fam. Special props to Amy & Christopher for the amazing people they draw to their community.
Instructors are wonderful with great skill. Everyone is incredibly welcoming to the kids and making them feel comfortable.
The performance groups! So great seeing our drummer play in a band with other instruments. And the performances are so much fun! We love School of Rock!!

SOR Scottsdale is an amazing venue for kids with a passion for creating music. Their private lessons are top notch. The teachers are passionate about music making and are great with kids of all ages. The facility is welcoming and makes the kids feel like they are a part of something really special. We joined School of Rock Scottsdale to give our son the opportunity to join a performance group. SOR’s performance program introduces students to forming a band, practicing with bandmates, and performing live. The performance venues are amazing and allows the kids to show off their talents, while getting them used to playing in front of a large live audience. I highly recommend SOR Scottsdale to any family with a budding musician!
Love the adult performance program! Where else can a bunch of moms and dads get together once a week to jam and then end the season with a live show at a local venue? School of Rock and playing my instrument had become a huge part of my life.
One on one attention and fun environment
Supportive environment. Teachers create a fun space for students to learn. The Scottsdale manager, Michelle, takes time getting to know each student and family. Our son enjoys being part of this community where he can grow is love for music. Very talented group of musicians!!

It’s like team sports for a kid who isn’t into sports. There is a great deal of team collaboration, responsibility to the group and you have to hit your marks.
The other aspect is the people who work with our kids, show runners, teachers, the music director, the GM and the staff he has attracted to assist - amazing and gifted people.
Of course, the material is of great interest to the kids and there is the cool factor.
