Learning music in a group setting with others is the key. It makes learning a lot more interesting. Performing live is also a nice motivator to keep a student practicing. The teachers are also very encouraging and have positive attitudes.

My daughter has attended School of Rock for the past 7 years, and it has been the most positive and defining experience of her pre-teen and teenage years. SOR has given her the opportunity to explore her identity and build her self-confidence, not just as a musician, but as a human. Joanne Martin, Dave Coniglio, and Tiana Jimenez-Srisook have been such an integral part of that experience. Their mentorship and encouragement have inspired her to thrive. My husband and I are absolutely thrilled that our daughter has decided to major in music at Tulane University in the Fall, and this would not have been possible without the experience she gained with House Band and the skills she developed during her time at School of Rock. Our family will miss them incredibly!
Mikayla does a PHENOMENAL job of keeping my daughter engaged. Classes are fun and engaging and my daughter counts down the days between classes. She’s also more confident and more interested in trying new things because she’s pushed to the edge of her comfort zone with her lessons. I cannot recommend School of Rock highly enough.

Very competent instructors and the adult band program is great. we get right into it and learn a wide variety of music. It's a lot of fun!

My daughter has learnt so much in the last 6 months since attending School of Rock, but more than anything she has gained an incredible amount of confidence in herself. She really looks forward to her classes every week, especially rehearsals. It makes me so happy to see her so in love with music. Your school really is giving her more than just instruction in music, you’re setting her up with skills and friendship bonds, she will carry with her into adulthood.

I like that the programs are individualized for each child. While the curriculum is strong and the expectations are high the pace is set by the students. The teachers walk the fine line of being the cool rock star and yet 100% appropriate around kids of all ages.
My son has been a student of School of Rock for nearly 10 years and he is thriving. The school and the staff have increased his quality of life greatly and helped him grow as a musician and as a human.
It's not like traditional musci lessons that some kids can get bored of real quick. It's teaching them music that they are interested in and not music they could care less about.
