I could take or leave the sports. What I like is the stylists. Those team members are your real asset. They’re always so nice, always have options and solutions, they’re kind, and they’re always interesting to chat with. At the same time, they don’t push you to talk if you don’t want to, and sometimes you just don’t want to. They all seem really professional, perceptive, and purposeful.
I like the selection of products and I also like how there’s no pressure to buy. I don’t mean this cynically or judgmentally, but if you guys give the stylists sales quotas on items, you could not tell. I hope you don’t because they’re never doing a hard sell, and I can imagine that’s a difficult place to be in.
I like that there’s almost never a long wait or a bunch of guys waiting around for haircuts. Service is always fairly quick, but never lacking. That’s a hard thing to do.
I also want to take a moment to recognize my local franchiser. I’ve been going to this franchiser’s stores for years now. As in any business, you can learn a lot about it over time when you’re sitting down and listening. Maybe not all SportClips are like I described, but my local ones are (includes Store 33-523 (aka NC523?)). This is a team that knows what they’re doing and has great leadership that can make sound, sometimes tough business decisions while looking out for the employees. That’s also difficult to do and I see it and I respect it.
