We had a great time at Embassy 14, felt clean and well maintained were following all covid19 protocols. Masks, distancing, gloves etc. Theater was clean. Service great as always.

On 6 May, our little San Antonio Santikos theater chain reopened with COVID-19 cautions in place.

I'm 71 and a film fanatic. Last year 2019, I watched 118 films at a theater,  usually Santikos. Starting on 16 March 2020, after an eye clinic appointment (the last patient seen before they closed for many months), I only ventured out once a week for groceries, masked with frequent use of sanitizer. Always "in abundance of caution" as the experts liked to say, since I'm in that "vulnerable group."

Santikos is a remarkable company. Their profits go to the San Antonio Area Foundation, supporting local charities as specified by the founder, John Santikos, now deceased. During their COVID-19 furlough, they continued to pay employee health insurance. I suspected Santikos would be pretty diligent in safety when they reopened but didn't take the plunge to go to the Santikos Palladium until 26 May for "How to Build a Girl." Wow! The experience was equivalent to staying at home, but better (popcorn & they've got a bar).

Employees were properly masked, there was continual wiping of counters and public areas, and no cash sales although you could trade cash for a gift card at a single location. Seat choice was limited and spaced appropriately. Attendants stood by at the end of the film to thoroughly wipe down where you sat. There was no yellow tape closing off anything.

Often going to the first afternoon show, I've been the only one in a theater several times -- an exclusive showing. Even in the theater showing the popular BTS film, 6' spacing was evident.

Santikos has slowly opened a few other theaters to make certain of safety procedures. I have seen 42 films at two Santikos theaters since my 26 May foray. Never once have I felt uncomfortable or threatened by COVID-19. 

I am convinced that any theater that follows the Santikos blueprint can succeed to make film lovers feel comfortable and safe.

Filmmakers make films for the big screen. "TENET" is one. I saw a lot of humor in that film. How could Robert Pattinson's hair stay perfect before, after, and during a fight scene? After John David Washington's rough and tumble, his suit looked like it had just come off the rack. How did the bullet return to the clip instead of the barrel? The gorgeous villa in Italy took my breath, and not from COVID-19 shortness of breath, either. Lordy, you just had to laugh.

The theater was extremely clean and there were very people. All the workers were extremely nice and attentive.

The theater was the cleanest I've ever seen it.

The chairs are spaced out really far and social distancing is not an issue.

Always a great experience with Santikos. I love that I am going to the movies and supporting my community at the same time.

This was the first time we had gone to the movies since the COVID outbreak and I was very comfortable. The steps taken to ensure guest safety were great; from gloves at the soda machine to appropriate spacing in the theater, it seemed that all things were well considered.
