My daughter was in the middle of her 2nd grd year, when Covid shut everything down. For the last two years, she has been in title 1 math at her school to help her progress to where she needs to be. Along with us working extra at home, but she was still struggling quite a bit. Just as we thought, when she did her initial assessment this past spring, it showed she was 2.5 years behind in her math skills. My daughter began coming to the Grand Blanc center mid June twice a week for an hour each time, once school let out for the summer. Just in the 5 or so weeks, she has been attending Sylvan her confidence with math has skyrocketed and she is progressing beautifully through her skill sets. The most amazing thing is, she said she loves math now and likes how her teachers at Sylvan have helped her understand it better. We are excited to see how much more she flourishes in her math skills(and confidence)this school year, with the help of all of the amazing teachers at Sylvan Grand Blanc.
My daughter was struggling with her reading, would cry when working with her at home so we decided to try an outside source to see if it would help. She's at her reading level in school now and she looks forward to going to her tutoring session's.
Have helped my daughter tremendously with her reading and sounding out words that she does not know. She was behind on her reading level beginning of school year and now is at goal.
Thanks to you my granddaughter has regained her confidence in doing math. She was having problems in Geometry, and you helped her. From the first day she started, she came out the classroom feeling she could handle it.
My son is excited about going to Sylvan. He thinks he is going for fun but in reality learning! His teacher and I have seen great improvements in such a short time. We were considering holding him back into early 5s vs first grade but after seeing such improvement he is ready for first grade
My great grandson had no schooling from the time Covid hit until this past fall , 2021 . He was in first grade when the schools closed and of course was unable to read or anything past early first grade level . We started him in Sylvan in January and he is reading quite well . He has a long way to go with catching up and with math also but we are very pleased with his progress . Millie Lutz
I heard these words from my 13 year old grandson on our way home from his session at Sylvan— I love ratios! They are so fun to do and they are so easy! All this was said with a smile!
It’s working. Thank you.
Th staff at this center are so caring. You can tell that they love what they do and love teaching! Hands down the best place to get your child ready for school, caught up, or ahead of their class.
