Machine repair; updated weight machines (e.g., the leg press machine)
The professionalism of your staff and the cleanliness of the facilities.
Generally, the club could spend a few dollars and create a Class I place. You're stepping over dollars to save a few pennies.
Look at your business model. Now look at your club.
The aquatic center. There's no time clock or flags.
Really would like to see the hot tub fixed. It was a terribly constructed tub that just splashes water everywhere and is crumbling on the inside and literally has a plate sized hole in it that someone is going to break an ankle in some day. Also the folks refilling the shampoo in the locker rooms need additional training to teach them to read the label before topping off the dispensers. 3 times in the last 4 months that I’m aware of they have been topped off with hairspray. I can see how it is an easy mistake made by someone not taking the time to read the big jug labels because the 2 products are the same color, it just sucks to be massaging shampoo into my scalp and my scalp starts burning.
The equipment and how your trainers motivate you to workout harder.
The sanitary conditions have been lacking a lot! Broken shower heads, dirty showers and bathrooms, no toilet paper. Dirty in general. I know you have been having staffing problems, but that needs to be improved. For the amount of money the gym is costing, we can expect better. It used to be really taken care of well.
I also found out Genesis members pay way less than former Sky Fit members. I don't think that is right.
Another item to improve, lately a lot of keys have been lost of members. One time the master key was broken, and a member could not get into her locker. This is not acceptable. It took a week to get another master key, as far as I know. Also maybe inform the members to lock their lockers and not just put personal belongings in lockers and a reminder there are thieves out there. Sad people have to be told that and sad we have thieving members. I heard 3 cars were stolen or stripped, I believe 1 in Woodland Hills, 2 in South. This is what I am hearing. If I do, so do others. And you don't want to get a bad reputation.
size and equipment
It will be good if you can keep us informed if the group lesson instructors don't show up. We spend time n commuting to the gym to later learn that the instructor is not available. This happened multiple times.
Different equipment. Some machines get little to no use.
I like the bike room - that's usually what I use so having it separate is nice for me. I also like that you guys are open so late, which is very convenient. The front staff is always nice.
The showers at the other gyms are way nicer they have doors instead of curtains. Also paper towels in the bathroom would be nice. Equipment is getting out to date. The people are really nice though 10/10
I like the club location and all the new updates.
The free weight room is alright, it’s very cramped honestly. Like it’s a nice spot when the place is almost empty but the last time I went it was over crowded and you had to wait to use some of the equipment. I also don’t like that I only saw one cable machine.
I've been a member at Genesis for several years now. I love the environment there, but the equipment needs to be upgraded badly. Most of the equipment that is in there is from when the club was Ozark Fitness (which was many moons ago).
Genesis Leavenworth has a super staff and a very clean facility. Shelbie ROCKS it as Manager. She is sooo friendly and helpful. Always has a smile and greets me by name. I have experience with two trainers, David Heck and Tristan Roberts. Both are outstanding individuals! I don’t know the cleaning crew’s names, but they are just tops at what they do. Always traveling around the gym disinfecting and tidying up. I’m very happy to be a member here.
The parking situation is not something that I understand the gym can control but a two-hour limit is not enough for gym members free parking - on days when there are games or events going to the gym does not happen as working around the crowds it can take 30 to 40 minutes just to park leaving me with only a little over a hour to workout

Not enough racks and room for free weights
Overly crowded at times I need to come and workout and takes twice as long, otherwise nice gym and equipment

Not enough Yin yoga classes on the weekends.
Regular maintenance on the machines. There are machines that aren’t working properly
People are so welcoming and friendly and I like the extra nice locker room amenities.
As a long-time member, I have watched the club steadily age and decline. Carpets are stained, machines are worn and often broken, chairs at the pool are ripped/torn, pool is dirty, towels/rags are stained, etc. Truthfully, the only reason I keep my membership is for the sheer convenience of the location. Given another option though, I would definitely reconsider.
The facility needs to be updated. There's water leaks and damage almost constantly. The vents and fans are dirty with dust. I've seen equipment moved and it still has dust on it after moving it. If it weren't for the people, we'd be working out somewhere else.
The place is filthy. Lack of classes is appalling and the online schedule is STILL not correct.
There is a yoga class that has been offered for a month yet nobody knows about it bc nobody can seem to update the website page. Which would be the easiest way to keep current. Saturday body pump is still shown at the wrong time.
Machines are always broken. There are 2-3 stair masters on one side that nobody uses because they aren’t properly cared for.
Echo bike is only one in the building and the seat is broken
Rowing machines, only a few work consistently
Attachments to cable machines are always missing clips so cannot be used
Specific trainer is very rude, has her clients stand directly behind you while you are working out even when the entire gym is empty. Cutting into personal space without asking and assuming her client is more important then the people around her working out
This location has fantastic, dedicated class instructors, BUT the facility itself is extremely lacking. One would think you’re walking back into the 80’s. It’s neglected and the level of quality compared to the other location is pathetic. It needs a major renovation. I’d like to see you build over by the new Costco. I do feel there is a strong need for a North location and your business could better thrive if you created a space with quality amenities, inviting atmosphere and a safe location. A place you were proud to belong. I think you would increase your membership and draw in new clients. The North sides current location is not ideal. It’s in a run down area.
