The only reason I have a membership is because of the hot tub. And I was looking forward to using it during the winter. However it has been down for almost 2 months. Every other gym in town has workout equipment but nobody has a hot tub so that is why I pay extra each month, but now I'm paying extra each month and not having a hot tub.
Everything!
It’s very big even though it doesn’t look like it from the outside. The pool and Sauna are really nice. The workers got to know me and that’s always nice.
Clean. Pool water is murky and equipment needs to be wiped down.
Most expensive health club in town and hours on weekends aren’t good
The club looks run down and workout areas not clean. Mask wearing not enforced in workout areas.
Clean facility, good equipment, good staff
Terrible customer service. Promises made for follow up by Chaz and...nothing. I called 3 times about the same thing. Most recent response was "I'll check into this, get it resolved and confirm with you by email this afternoon." That was 6 weeks ago. No resolution. No communication. I work at a company with 160 employees. Two others have dropped their membership for same reason. Chaz doesn't follow through when problems arise although he promises to do so.
Being a former Metcalf Sport member and with the pandemic, I haven't been able to make it to the office, which is why I haven't been able to make it into this club. Pictures of the inside look nice. Only reason why I put a 9 is because now Genesis will make me drive farther to this club. There is a closer one I could go to, but would have to pay extra. When I do go back to the office and work out during lunch, the added driving time takes out of my time to work out.
All of it, especially the pool
First, no one is wearing masks, patrons or staff. I know several people who were infected at the Ridgeview location. It’s absurd you don’t enforce mask wearing. Second, the club is disgusting. The pool doesn’t get cleaned. Locker rooms are gross. And on top of it the owner wants to eliminate any property tax liability?
Easy to get in and out
The layout is spread out which creates a sense of privacy and security for those that don’t want to be seen/judged by others who are working out too.
New equipment
No one at the counter knows anything. Weekend afternoons there is no management there to ask questions. It's become dirty in the locker rooms.
It's definitely gone down hill.
The current atmosphere isn't great. But the designs for the renovations look promising!
very welcoming!
Making people wear mask into the gym. Walking into the gym and between machines you have to wear a mask so to not "catch" a virus, but while at the machine we can take of the mask so we can breath, and the virus is so smart it knows this are on a machine and will not "catch" it.
You people are to be "experts" in health, yet you still make people wear masks. Whomever is making the decision is an idiot.
Everyone should wear masks. This will help to have more people join. And I noticed the pool area needs refurbished...new paint to get rid of the rust stains on the wall and ductwork.
New redo of Westroads location will be sensational.
I sent a message a lonnnnnnggg time ago. Never heard back. So maybe reply to that message .
You really haven’t disappointed. It is just I don’t really want to have to go to a health club to work out. With Covid I found out I can work out at home and have learned many money saving ideas from being home more. Just not likely to recommend any health club to anyone right now.
The pros on the tennis side are wonderful. Lately they have had to take a lot of heat for not having heat. The indoor tennis temperature of 54 degrees or less is unacceptable, going in 2+months. When it is 54 degrees outside, we pay to play inside, thus 50s isn’t acceptable. I have play at 2 other Genesis in KC and they were both close to 70 if not above. Countless members have voiced their concern over the lack of attention and/or funding to correct this. This is the type of issue that can and will push people to seek out other places within the city to play tennis.
My boyfriend has been a member for 15 years, me for about 4. He is having nothing but hassles with your membership team and billing.
Not enough for kids to do and everything is an additional cost, the condition of the gymnasium is an issue(missing or dysfunctional rims for hoops) Convenience/location is honestly the main attraction for our family at this point
The instructors in all the classes are great!
Heat the warm water pool
Repair the hot tubs quicker. Possibly add a couple more class times for mat Pilates, core, step, and add a kickboxing fitness class...more at times like 5:30
Combo 6 cancellation was horrible
So far, so good!
