It is clean, and I feel safe and Covid free.Staff are knowledgeable and cordial. Rick has been my trainer since 2013!I I can't wait until the new Southside gym is finished!
The staff is great, but it takes forever to get things fixed if they are broke. The air unit was down forever, the steamroom in the men’s area is a joke, toilets have been broke for weeks. This began once Genesis took over and members are all talking about how corporate doesn’t care enough to keep our location up to par.
Go beyond the very minimal, easy fix, largely cosmetic efforts you made at COVID control. Your lack of meaningful measures toward masking and social distancing pretty much make a mockery of your "Yours in health" slogan.
Make where the equipment is equally shared. Every treadmill was catering to Apple products. That's discrimination to Android consumers.
I have been going to that club for more than 20 years. I used to love it. Now its jammed with people at the end of the day on weekends because you close too early. Can't get a locker, need to wait for a shower, too many people in the steam room and Jacuzzi. Everyone is trying to get in before you close at 8pm on weekends. Its horrible.
My first trainer was Fantastic
But he transferred to another facility
Extremely unhappy with the next two
The variety and the times of the group fitness classes, especially the water fitness.
Everything except the hours, need to open at 4:00 am.
Improve the lockerrooms as the former owners promised b4 civic hit.
Cleanliness and variety of equipment
I'm pleased with the COVID health precautions, particularly the mask mandate. And after more than a year of not being able to attend Silver Sneakers, it's great to see that Monica Steinbach is still the instructor. She's excellent!
Location, friendly staff
I joined Sky, now Genesis South before the doors even opened way back when. What I loved about it then & now are these things:
1.The front desk workers say hello & good-bye. I went to Lifetime for a while & they don’t do that. Please continue training the front desk to not look at their phones or carry on conversations when greeting the members. It’s a personal touch that I think members like me really appreciate. Think “Chick fil A” & “My pleasure”. Being personal & professional matters.
2. Cleanliness. It looks clean & smells clean.
3. The towels. Love the towel service.
4. The instructors/trainers-my favorites Povi, Lesli, Crystal, Ashley, & Mark Bearden.
5. The steam room-I’ve not used it since covid but plan to soon. I heard there’s still some ongoing probs w/it. My sister switched to Genesis at Promenade because she said their steam room is much better over there. Hope you can keep the south steam room up & running well.
Genesis South has always had a unique, personal touch. Please keep it that way!
The staff is so friendly and they have all the equipment you could think of. They are also open to suggestions and want to provide the best experience for their members.
The friendly staff and neighborhood people and the variety of classes offered.
It's friendly and open when I need it to fit my schedule. It's clean and provide help from the instructors when you have a problem
Clean facilities, friendly staff, excellent aqua fitness classes.
The variety and number of classes available.
Lower monthly prices. A lot of people can't afford it.
More racket ball courts, and fix brother equipment
The trainer we had was hard to get a hold of and the free weight benches are to close together.
The steam room on mens side needs to be cleaned more, and if possible it needs to be on a more consistent timer. People end up throwing water on the sensor to make it start which i assumr then damages it and then the steam room is closed for repairs.
Took away too much stuff, including the basketball court. It’s super strict and the changes to the layout are not accommodating. There’s also a homeless man that keeps taking over the locker room and is very rude. No one seems to care.
I like sprague a lot but center is closer so always go there. I like being able to do cardio and look out over gym at Sprauge. I actually just recommend sprague to a friend yesterday that lives close by.
Natural lighting, steam room and expand the functional training area
Friendly, clean & well equipped.
I only use the pools. They need serious updating. The air system indoors looks bad and looks as if grates may fall down on you while swimming under them. Why not take out some of the windows facing the outdoor pool and install sliding glass doors to open it up during the summer. The air in there gets hot, thick and full of chlorine smell
Better cleaning please!
Have your employees follow through with the mask requirements. Those working out on the floor are not adhering to the rules you have posted on the door and throughout the gym.
The equipment is pretty worn down in the cycle room. Never any clean towels by the personal trainer desk. I think the cleanliness has really changed in the last 6 months. The towels have makeup stains on them . Maybe not enough bleach?
