Leaks everywhere, much of the av equipment is non-functional, new spin studio is not as inviting as the old studio. Tennis should be free to members.

Genesis Club has everything I need to stay healthy.
Seems like none of the employees want to be bothered. The instructor for Combo six was visibly upset that we walked into the class at Friday at 12. The parking is terrible. When we first joined no one informed us of all the things included in our membership. I pay $55/month and some are only $10. Classes don’t acknowledge new people and don’t instruct on how to prepare with weights.(Group Power). Staff just push questions off too ok another employee. Racquetball sign up is not transparent. Should be online. Staff member in the body scan room was not helpful. Practically discouraging us from getting a scan by saying it was expensive. No one gives consistent answers for anything.
Please require people in the weight machine areas to wear masks during the pandemic. I have not been able to be in the weight areas for the past year because of the disregard of transmission of coronavirus from potentially asymptomatic customers to other people. My physical therapist has required that I use a particular machine that only your facility has; however, I cannot use it because the other customers do not care about other patrons.

It has a great atmosphere
The lockers are horrible. The code you give it doesn't set. And anyone can say a particular locker is theirs and the associate will open it no questions asked.
We've seen several people having the same issue with the lockers.
So my wife and I go to the locations where we can bring our own locks and have peace of mind.
We have to drive past the Ward Parkway Genesis to the other locations, but it's worth it.
Reduce price for those with contracts, I’m constantly hearing deals in the radio that are way more affordable then our contract and it’s pretty disappointing
During the entire pandemic, the patrons and staff were supposed to wear masks unless actively participating. Yet, the tennis coaches walked up and down those narrow walkways without masks. A group of 10-12 unmasked employees held conferences smashed in the little conference room, and they were certainly not sitting six feet apart. People in my group complained, but there was no action. Now that vaccines are widely available, none of us are confident that these people have received them. If a HEALTH club doesn't care about the health of it members enough to fight the spread of a pandemic disease by following public safety rules, then how can we feel that they care about lives, much less health?
Then, there's the Thursday morning aerobic tennis class. Our group has been playing tennis at this facility for 30 years. We've kept the place going through 3 or 4 different permutations of what that club is. But now, management cares more about getting in new, young members than respecting those of us who have literally paid our dues. The aerobic class is fine, but the music gets so loud sometimes that we can't hear our own partners (and our hearing is fine). That obviously affects our play, and we PAY for the privilege of playing there, too. We've asked that the music be set at a reasonable level, and it goes down for a week or two before blasting again.
And, in the era of Me, Too, it's uncomfortable that one of the songs that blares every so often is Mambo #5 about the singer's conquests. Agreed: it's got a GREAT beat, but the lyrics fly in the face of current movements to respect women, not put them on a list. Gross.
I love the place and the people or I wouldn't have stayed there for 30 years. But ignoring the rules of public safety during a pandemic makes me wonder what is really important.
The employees and members all are like family. It’s a great place to build long lasting relationships with great people.
The hot tub has not been open in months, we are limited to “maybe” being able to go inside the sauna- just depends on if one of the people who have been inside for over 30 minutes will come out. I’ve came countless times to the gym to get on one piece of equipment to have it not working, move to the next one just for it also not to be working. You guys did all of these renovations and half of your equipment is still in need of repairs. Even the weighted balls have stuff coming out from busted stitches. Limited hours, limited equipment. Just because something looks nice definitely doesn’t mean it’s nice.
Raquetball court 1 has had a light out for months and is still not fixed.
The new gym is great. 2 comments: with the new pool, it would be great to have spin dryer in the locker rooms for swimsuits. The KSU pool used to have one and they're pretty simple, nothing fancy. I just saw one on Amazon for $161. Second, the women's locker room bathroom stalls were filthy yesterday. (5am, Friday, 4/23) There was dried mud/ dirt all over the floor and the wall in one of the stalls looked dirty but it might have been rust spots from a harsh cleaner. ??

Great classes, great instructors and staff and great members. All the amenities for a reasonable membership rate.
Racquetball courts and indoor track.
Club is now poorly maintained and all of the good trainers and instructors have left. Genesis thinks they are a “luxury” gym but having been a long time PLF member I can no longer bring visitors to Genesis. Too dirty and the new staff are cocky, not interested in genuine feedback. Sad to see this happen to what had been a really nice family oriented gym with really excellent instructors.
The classes are flexible to add different hours.
Always clean and very spacious
Where do I begin? The equipment is the dirtiest of all the clubs in the metro area, paper towels are mostly always empty and none of the spray bottles work, equipment is broken on several machines but are still in service for members to use, I can see nobody bothers to clean after themselves, no staff are wearing masks at this location but all the other locations they do, mats are all disgusting and literally falling apart they are so old.
That being said, I dont have expectations of perfection but compared to the other Genesis locations I would lastly recommend this location for a regular place to workout.

Same concerns. Men’s locker room and showers are not clean. Hot water has not been efficient
The convenience, hours, equipment, friendly staff & camaraderie with people who are consistently there when I am.
