I like the atmosphere. It is friendly. I like the inspirational emails Eke sends out. We have had a rough few years, and while I don't get there as much as I like this past year, those email inspire me, while not making me feel guilty. The J offers a lot of programs for the basic membership. Plus I like all the community events, plays, lectures, etc available to members.
Excellent eguipmenta wide variety of programs the willingness of staff to help and answer guestions. Most of the staff are friendly but there are a few who make no effort to be friendly or even look at you.
Variety of exercise equipment and classes
Friendly staff, homey feeling, family atmosphere, variety of services available. It was so great that you were open on Thanksgiving.
I love the morning crew (6AM). The front desk is great (Katie and Dean) and John has become a great trainer. Savannah is always great for a killer spin class. Mostly, it is the awesome members that come every morning to share in the fun of working out together.
My complaint... We lost Tracy as or Tuesday PE301 trainer and that class was not replaced. She was running close to 20 in her class every Tuesday, so now it is a fight to get a bike for spin class. The Wave really needs to offer more 6AM classes, as the members have shown that we want those classes.
Secondly, Meg had a 6AM class on Wednesday's (Turbo Kick) - This isn't really the style of class for the 6AM crew, but some of us were giving it a go. She only ran the class for a few weeks and then it was cancelled because she wasn't getting enough people. She had eight in the class on her last day (which seems like a reasonable number to me). As the weeks went on she was modifying the class to better match the 6AM crew. I think she could have had a well attended class had she 1) Been given a little more time to build it up, 2) Advertised the class (with the aerobics room in the back, a lot of people don't even know there is a class), 3) Changed the class to be less bouncy/jumpy (she did this on the last day with us working on the bar and doing an ab segment).
According to others, the Tuesday PE301 class wasn't continued because the Wave did not have any trainers that were willing to take it. However, the week after Tracy left, the Wave cancelled the Wednesday class when they did have a trainer that was willing to do a 6AM class. This doesn't make sense to me.
It seems that the Wave is not able to keep their good trainers for long because they don't pay them enough. These trainers that are running awesome classes should be paid for their efforts. Maybe the 6AM trainers should get a little extra for their early morning efforts.
Bottom line, even though I have complaints, I love my time at the Wave. My complaints/suggestions are only because I want it to be even better.

Friendly staff. Good trainers. Nice facilities, but need to repair bumpers and seats on some weight equipment. Weight machines need General maintenance.
