My son went from not understanding Math to getting a B on the first test after he started with Sylvan. Dallan, his teacher, taught him how to solve Math problems in a way that he understood, and in a way no one had ever taught him in all his school life, he is in Grade 11.

Love the fact that lessons are customized to the specific needs of our daughter and the that the staff at Sylvan actually listen to the parents and understand what are their concerns.
Additionally, the staff ask lots of questions of our daughter to a) understand what she is having difficulty with, b) confirm that those challenges are the same as the parents, c) test to confirm where our daughter is in her grade and in comparison to her peers, and d) customize her lessons to addressing both our daughter's concerns and well as ours.
Our daughter's progress is checked, confirmed, and then demonstrated to us at monthly parent meetings.
After only enrolling our daughter in sylvan for 2 months, we do notice that progress in being made.
If other parents are considering Sylvan, the only advice I would give is not to expect miracles of Sylvan. Be reasonable in your expectations, allow the staff to do their jobs and slowly over time, progress and improvements will start to show up in your child((ren)'s progress.

The situation is convenient to get to. The staff are caring and encouraging in their approach to meeting the needs of my family member. The teaching methods at Sylvan cater to the individual student, which is so important in order for each child to grasp the concepts. This attention to each student's different ways to learning is sadly lacking in the school system in general. I highly recommend Sylvan to anyone I know who has a child
that is having difficulties at school. My current family attendee is a second generation
participant in the Sylvan program.
