I really liked the breakdown of the hour program. 30 minutes of practice and warm ups and 30 mins of game.
My absolute favorite was the ref, Taylor. She was AMAZING. She loves the game of basketball and attempts to pass that on to the children. She works really well with them too.
Coach Taylor! She has been fantastic! And I don't know the young man who refereed our game last weekend (we're the Rhino team) but he was also great. Didn't just blow the whistle, he demonstrated for the kids what they were doing wrong and gave them another chance. We loved the program last year but it's even better this year.
I like that Volleyball is running on time and I do like getting the texts with reminders on time/what color jersey to wear, etc.
My daughter is brand new to Volleyball and it seems like a lot of the girls on the team know each other. The coaches are very nice and helpful. I wish there had been an icebreaker activity or something like that on the first day - she did not know anyone's name, how long they have played Volleyball. My daughter is a beginner, as indicated on the sign up and I feel like it was run as if everyone knew how to play. She wasnt sure how the scoring worked or when to move, when to serve. Still not sure she does, haha.
My son enjoys the program. I think It could be a little more personable. Last session, coach Q made sure to learn all the kids names on the team. This session the coaches only know the names of the kids they know personally. Overall, good opportunity for the kids to learn the fundamentals of basketball and have a little competitive fun!
