Overall great! Our coaches are attentive and teach age appropriate skills to the kids. I like the notices/reminders sent to email and text. I only wish the hoops were lower to allow the kids to make more baskets.
I like that you accept friend requests for teammates and that the coaches are allowed on the field/court. I also love that there isn't this huge focus on winning. It's more on learning how to play a sport as a team.
I love how it is instructional with some game-like experience but is NOT competitive compared to other programs. When kids want to give something new a try, the last thing they need is coaches/adults yelling at them. Thank you for making this a very positive experience.
The overall process, goals and attitude of the program. It was very easy to join. I appreciate trying to keep kids from the same school together. It is a nice way to meet parents/families from the community.
I9 gives all kids the opportunity to play a sport. It gives them the opportunity and self confidence to possibly try out for that sport at their local school. Something they might not have done before playing in the I9 program.
We love so much! All my babies have a blast! We have been playing for years and will continue to play with i9! This is what I want my babies to remember with sports just have fun it’s not life and death you don’t have to be the next all star professional! I just want you to have fun! They make sure all the kids get in and build their skills and take the win with the loses but still have fun and make lots of friends! I tell all my mommy friends this is the place to be!
We have participated in other youth programs around DSM and have had the best experience with i9. The communications has been great on schedules for locations, which court, color of jersey to wear, etc. We are not only provided the information via email, but also get text messages as well everything is updated and posted to the website. Greatly appreciate that the teams actually have volunteers to coach the kids, someone to keep score and a ref. Hands down our experience with i9 has far exceeded any other place we have participated in youth sports programs.
Love the format with 30 min practice before games. I love that focus is on skill building, teamwork, and fun!!! I do wish the refs were a little more consistent week to week in what is called. Example, one week travels and double dribbles are called, the next week they aren’t called at all. However, I know the refs are young, doing their best, and learning as well. However, the inconsistency does make it confusing for young players trying to learn the game too
