ServiceMaster was quick to respond to my need for help with water damage on the lower floor of my house. I received same day service and the company was at my house when they said they would be here. The crew was very personable, efficient, professional and knew exactly how to handle the water damage to my carpet and other items that were in water. They assured me to relax and not worry and they would take care of the problem and they did. My biggest fear was mold and mildew. ServiceMaster had me covered. They said the biggest mistake that homeowner's make is trying to clean up water damage without the proper equipment and materials it takes to make sure that mold and mildew do not get into the carpet and the house, etc. When the job was completed my finished basement smelled great, there was no moisture anywhere, and the carpet looked like it was new. I recommend ServiceMaster with hesitation. The best thing to do when ServiceMaster shows up to your home is show them the problem and then get out of their way so they can take care of business. My technician was very dedicated and thorough in their evaluation of our water damage and implementation of the solution. I was very grateful for the direct interaction Service Master provided with my insurance.
The scoring and comments are regarding the mitigation portion of the work only: You came quickly once I called about our water problem. The drying out did take much longer than you estimated or I expected, but I don't think that was ServiceMaster's fault, but rather our kitchen cabinets. Looking back, I wonder if it would have helped to pull all the toe kick boards immediately (hope I have my terminology correct). Everyone at ServiceMaster has been very nice, helpful and professional - making this unique and unwelcome experience easier to deal with. I will say that personally speaking, the more communication - the better. There were some times when we felt unsure of when or what the next step was. I suggest, a quick phone call or email to let the customer know what's going on and the anticipated schedule would be appreciated.

Steve and Juan were on time and polite. They explained their work when I asked. They were respectful of being in my home - knowing I was in the middle of a disaster. They would ask my schedule and would call to see if the time worked and to let me know he was on the way. They came in - did their work and left. I was especially impressed the first day when Steve tore my home apart and cleaned up his mess. I hope I never need to use you again but if I do I am keeping your phone number under EMEREGENCY in my phone book.
