I really can't think of just one thing that we like about Sylvan. Sylvan has helped our daughter so much with her academics as well as boosting her self-confidence. We feel that the staff at Sylvan is extremely dedicated to helping the children and we couldn't think of a better place to be.

I like how efficient everyone is. In the 4 weeks that I have come to Sylvan, the hour during the week is always used for tutoring, my son goes straight in and sits down for an hour. I feel that Sylvan respects my time, I don't have to wait for the tutor to show up and he is never kept over for too long.
Also I love how friendly and caring everyone is while still keeping your privacy in such small quarters. I also appreciate the results I am seeing after only one month. In one month my son was promoted a grade level and I know its because of Sylvan.

Michelina Kinell in the W. Hartford office is a pleasure to deal with. My daughter (junior) has already began her SAT prep classes and she actually enjoys attending. She has been to 3 of the 7 classes and she has said that the information is very helpful. I have a freshman that will definitely enroll in the same class when the time comes.

My son's teacher cones out to speak to me after each visit to let me know what they worked on. She does short term assessments to see where he is and then gives me an update of what he knows and what work needs to be done.

Great teachers
They develope individual plans for each student and work within the time frame I have. My older daughter also went to sylvan & it helped her get into advanced math.
The tutor/teacher is very versed in the subject area.
Michelina is the best. She really makes the West Hartford Sylvan center. Even if a center opened up closer to me, I would still choose to drive the hour to her center because she is so involved with my son's academic success. She bends over backward to make sure that our family is supported and getting what we need so my son can do well in school.
I like that the instruction is presented in such a way that my son feels positive about the experience. He reports that his hour "feels like 15 minutes." Also, the formatted approach allows him to learn the necessary skills in a planned way.
