Amy - I appreciate your feedback; however, I am extremely surprised and dismayed to see you use the term "bait and switch"! Particularly in light of your statement that you had a "great experience." I cannot fathom how you could consider it anything like a "bait and switch".
First, you used our online estimator, which gave you a price range of $108 to $148, which includes the $30 discount for booking your appointment on line. It expressly states that this is an estimate only, not a firm price, and that we will give you a firm price when we can actually see what you have for us to haul away. It also states that to qualify for the $30 discount, you must book the appointment online.
When you and I then spoke on the phone, and you described what you had, I told you I would give you the the $30 discount, even though you had not booked online, and the price would be $148 - which is exactly the same price that the online estimator had given you.
Then you stated that you were really hoping it would be the lower end of the range. As I explained on the phone, based on the items you had, at $108, it was getting very close to my cost of doing the job. However, to gain your business, and because my guys were going to be only about 10 minutes away at another appointment, I agreed to help you out and took ANOTHER $40 off the price, and agreed to $108.
Based on what you had, the price should have been $178. However, I agreed to give you the $30 discount for booking online (even though you did not book online) and then gave you another $40 off - so you received a 40% discount, and ended up getting the price you had wanted to get in the first place.
How is this a "bait and switch"?
