My 6 year old son came to this country 6 months ago and did not speak much English. I enrolled him with Sylvan at 16th and Halsted. His experience has been very positive. Kate Wallace is the best. I think a great teacher has to know how to teach and motivate. My son is enjoying his attendance at Sylvan. He is speaking more English with proper pronunciation and looks forward to his lessons with his teacher. Kevin Leong

I thought my son needed tutoring in reading as well as math but with their testing I found out he needs math help. My son has become much more confident with math and he’s always excited to come to tutoring. We love Sylvan!!!

My child feels more confident in completing her math assignments since she has been attending Sylvan. She has also began to find her own mistakes while she is working on her problems.

My daughter looks forward to arriving every Tuesday and Thursday to get her reading session. I love their friendly staff as well.

My daughter really enjoys Sylvan weekly tutoring sessions! She has improved in her Math score and beginning to gain more confidence as the year goes on! I’d definitely recommend Sylvan to another parent as I like that i have a monthly check with the director on my child’s progress as well as a brief note of what she learned that day during the tutoring session!

I like this location because the center directors are responsive to what the students need. They really got to know my son’s personality and challenge him beyond what he us sometimes willing to do. Theresa is awesome with him!

I love that you got us work in smaller groups and it's so much easier for my daughter to understand and have a relationship with her teacher
