My daughter started going to Sylvan in June and she started improving immediately. They work in small groups and focus on the areas that the child is lacking in. If they see that your child hasn’t mastered a skill they continue to work on it until it’s mastered. They meet with you once a month to update you on your child’s progress and, the staff is great they care about the students education . My daughter looks forward to going to Sylvan every week.
When I brought my great-granddaughter to Sylvan, she could not read at 8 years of age. After approximately 6 months, she is beginning to read, sound out words, recognize all of the alphabet. She still struggles at times, but she has come a long way, thanks to Sylvan and the staff they have to help her.
I chose Sylvan to teach my great granddaughter. She had not had the benefit of early childhood education and was at a disadvantage going into grade school. While she is not yet reading on the grade level that she is in, she is making tremendous progress. This would not have happened without the dedication of the teachers at Sylvan who I believe truly care about the young people in their whether reading, math, ACT/SAT, etc. I am very please with her progress.
While I don't specialize in early elementary literacy, as a lifelong educator, I knew my child needed additional support to help her develop emerging literacy skills. Sylvan has made a huge difference in giving our daughter the confidence boost she needed to make significant growth in her kindergarten reading assessment. She knows she has a team of people who are supporting and cheering her on in her learning journey: Sylvan tutors, her beloved teacher, her reading interventionist, and her parents. Thank you, Sylvan, for making reading fun, interactive, and exciting for my child!
My son was behind in reading. We have been coming here for 2 months now. I have definitely seen a improvement. His teacher has noticed also. Everyone has been friendly.
My daughter has slowly been showing more confidence and desire to want to learn how to read. Tutoring is really helping her feel like she can eventually do it!
The teacher is so patient working with
