My son is happy and feels confident when he leaves Sylvan. The fact that my son asked me after his second appointment, "can I go to school here?". Was truly wonderful! My son has been expressing confidence around current school assignments. He had been feeling defeated around his schoolwork and couldn't keep up. Since attending Sylvan for even just a month my son has expressed being ahead on reports that his teachers have given him.

My son likes the Tutors and feels comfortable. The Director Lydia is very friendly and quick to answer questions and provide feedback.
My daughter expresses her love for Sylvan's learning center as fun - harder than her everyday school- she is pleased to be challenged and loves being able to ask questions. She enjoys every teacher she has and the fact that everyone is so patient and eager to hear her and support her needs to learn. She never complains about having to go to Sylvan's on the week night after school or on Saturday. She appreciates (we appreciate) What Sylvan's has done for her and (we know) will continue to do for our daughter.

I like the fact that the students get a 1 to 3 ratio with the teachers! I think that it is very important that the students have the teachers right there with them encouraging them all the way and being readily available for questions and FEEDBACK!!! The "reward/token" system is great too. The students seem to enjoy getting "rewarded" for their hard work!
Sylvan has offered us the structure and the help that we needed to give my daughter the tools that she needed to succeed in her math. We have already seen a great improvement in just one month!
The teachers are very positive and really make the child want to learn and make the effort to succeed by positive reinforcement. They are made aware of what can be accomplished by working hard and delivering their best.
My son increased his reading score by 1.4 grade levels - amazing!

The personal interactions that I have had with the staff. I know 2 of the teachers as they were teachers in elementary school when I was younger. The best part is that both of my kids enjoy going.
Respect for children and professional services--great follow up. Ivy, in the Augusta office was clear, concise and empathetic and unbiased in providing information. I am upset at the closing of the Augusta office, as I was going to continue using the tutorial services and had a great schedule set up. THe abrupt stop of the center was upsetting.
My daughter has regained her self confidence and love of learning since being at Sylvan. Her public school teacher is horrible, thank goodness Stlvan has teachers there that care and want my child to succeed! Thank you:)
I appreciate the assessment approach to determine the needs of each individual student. I would like to see more frequent updates as to the progress my child is making.

The one-on-one, structured approach was beneficial to my son. I have been reading aloud to the family on long car rides and just last week my son asked if he could do the reading. It was so exciting! We have also appreciated the summaries of his progress. Finances are also taken into consideration while establishing his program - we felt that we know what still needs to be addressed without the pressure to continue if we are not able to afford the sessions.
They explain math so that my daughter(s) understand it and like it.
