What could we do to improve?

Too early to tell. The staff seems great and my son seems interested in the program, but I have not seen results occur in grades yet. I do not expect quick changes in him, but do expect marked improvement over time. In other words, I need more time to base an opinion.

What do you like about our services?

I really appreciate it when the tutors express concern if the child is tardy and the fact that they have been dismissed. That is real concern for the safety and welfare of the children

You work very well with my son and his specific needs. I know there is a specific program, but you work around it to make sure my son gets the best benefits!

You are very efficient, helpful and easy to work with. I really appreciated the promptness and helpfulness in getting my son the help he needed. Your staff was great in working with me in getting the best match of teacher to student. You worked with me in getting the class started within 3 days of my request. How did we disappoint you and what can we do to make things right?

I was contacted by a very nice gentleman from the corporate office inquiring why I never enrolled my daughter in the program. I explained to him that I had an ad from NEA for educators. Jeff was the director at the location I took my daughter in Memphis. Jeff understood my position as a single mom wanting the very best(Sylvan)for my daughter. Jeff worked with me on the payments and always checked with me before drafting my account because he realized the dates didn't coincide with my pay days. Jeff never did me any personal favors but he did understand my plight and as long as I was never past 30 days with a payment, he allowed me to pay closer to my pay day cycles BUT MY DAUGHTER WAS NEVER DENIED HER SESSIONS. Jeff even wrote a letter for the court system for me in my attempt to ask for financial assistance to help my daughter. The new director wasn't as understanding and told me not to bring my daughter back until the payment was made in full. The state of the economy reflects how tough finances are for EVERYONE but things are twice as tough for a single parent. I would love for my daughter to continue coming to Sylvan, even if not for reading for assistance in math. Sylvan has a great program. Life is difficult and everyone has circumstances, and it's easy to sit behind a desk and pass judgement when the situation isn't directly related to you. Jeff wasn't like that and never demonstrated such a harsh bottom line. Jeff was always nice and very personable. Jeff understood that I was resopnsible for two kids and things in life sometimes happen. The new director who took over after he left was cold and heartless. Sylvan is the best, and what parent doesn't want the best for their children?

What do you like about our services?

What I like about your services is you are consistent with the assessment and the material is presented in such a way that the student is truly assessed without their actual knowledge. Although the program is quite costly it seems to be very effective. I am excited to see the results of my son's first report card.

Did not help my child improve just took my money. How you can improve is give me back my hard earned money so I can get him some real help!

How did we disappoint you and what can we do to make things right?

We have only been in the program for 2 weeks. Not really disapointed, but waiting to see thre results after the first 36 hours of instruction.
