I loved so many things! Most importantly the fact they were honest and encouraging!They weren't just trying to sell you something they really do have your childs best intrest/education in mind. Mostly how excited they were for her in all her accomplishments! They never took any credit all they would say is that my child had "it" all along just needed the confidence and a little help getting it out.
I like the fact that assessments are used to determine the areas of instruction. The skill papers that I receive after sessions are beneficial.
I am not necessarily disappointed. We are too early in the process for me to know whether or not I would recommend anyone. I want to see an increase in his grades, and until then I'm not sure whether or not I would recommend anyone.

My daughter took the time to do the act prep test and the workbook was changed. She thought she got all the answers wrong and then the guy said oh wait this isn't the new workbook page?!?!?! After a wasted 30 minutes she felt defeated and frustrated
The staff is great with accommodating my sschedule and Andy works well with my daughter.

It's so expensive.
When Adriana enrolled, the Sylvan assessment stated she was not at a first grade reading level. So, we selected a three month program to improve her reading and phonics. At school, she received an "A" for the first eight weeks report period and an "C" for the second eight weeks period that ended in December. That is disappointing. About six weeks after Adriana started at Sylvan, she started to have difficulty with her reading assignments. It appeared to us that no coordination between Sylvan and the school was occurring. When we questioned what Sylvan was teaching compared to the school, the reply was no communication with the school had occurred. In hindsight, I believed what Sylvan was teaching and what the school was teaching was so different that Adriana was confused. This lead to a drop in her grade. I feel that fundamentally that the approach Sylvan took with Adriana was ineffective and may have caused her to lose ground on her reading development.
My wife talked to the Sylvan instructor about her school work. She gave copies of the school work to the instructor. The instructor told her that Adriana had to get her phonics before she could comprehend her reading.
How friendly the staff is and focused in each students goals. Also how building trust with the students and parents ma king us feel welcome. Thank u so much to Sylvan u rock
