My child seems comfortable with all of the tutors and she seems to be more confident in doing her school work. I see a small improvement in her grade even though she has only been at Sylvans for a small amount of time.

I have found the director and instructors at Sylven to be polite, encouraging, and genuinely interested in providing a warm, comfortable, non-stress, environment in which to work with my son on his math homework and bring him back up to speed with concepts which he has not fully understood in middle school. I detect in him a sense of calm and relief that was not at all present prior to going to Sylvan. It is clear that the instructors have been able to explain the math concepts in a manner that better suits him.

ONE ON ONE TEACHING

We enjoy the professional, systematic approach to instruction as well as the care and concern for our daughter demonstrated by the Sylvan staff. Our daughter has gained confidence and skill through her individualized learning plan.

I have also recommended Sylvan to my brother in Calgary whose daughter was having difficulty with acquiring reading and writing skills appropriate for her grade level. My neice has been successful in making tremendous gains in learning as well as confidence that she can do it.

Sylvan provides an academic setting without being too "school-like". At the end of a school day is not the best to entice a student to continue to strive for academic excellence, but Sylvan has managed to find a way to keep students motivated until the evening hours. I applaud them. As a school teacher, all I want to do after 3:30pm is rest.

There is a sincere interest in making sure what the student needs and addressing it. Parents are kept updated of the progress their children make and are always informed. The patience show to the student is outstanding.

Everything is individualized based on the child. You take the time to do a thorough assessment of each child before you start them on a program.

The teachers seem to connect with the student and are inspiring them to succeed. Angela enjoys her time with Maggie and feels very comfortable with her. Her latest test score at school has increased, there still is room for growth.
