The teachers are magical. While the preschool class has a big roster, I love how patient the instructors are with my nervous swimmer. That said, my kiddo wants fewer people so there is less waiting so we plan to switch to small group or private lessons.

Parent baby swim is our favorite activity ever! We love that we can drop our younger one in child watch as well to have quality time with our toddler

I joined the Y in March of this year, on the recommendation of a friend who had been attending Devon’s deep water aerobic swim class. I went once and I was hooked! The class is absolutely wonderful. Great exercise, but also fun.

Devon is a true professional. She’s extremely competent; she knows what she’s doing. Her class is consistently excellent. No bad days, or less effort, she is always full of energy, enthusiasm and humor. Her class members (myself included) are devoted to her. The age range is probably 50’s to 80’s, an inspiration in itself. (I’m 70 years old). She’s watchful and aware of each of us, encouraging us and challenging us, while maintaining a safe environment, (“We are all a work in progess,” she often remarks).

I will eventually try other Y classes, but my point is that — even if the only class I ever attend at the Y is Devon’s class — it will be well worth it.

I love the Silver Sneakers classes and the chair Yoga classes. The instructors (Barb and Tina) are very knowledgeable and make the classes fun. So many members that come to these classes have become friends. They’re like family.
More and more people are coming to these classes because word gets out how good they are. I suggest the Y purchase more equipment to supply these classes. We get over 30 people often.

I love the sauna (not thrilled it’s co-Ed now, but I realize that everyone loves the sauna. Maybe you could post the “women’s only” hours when the pool doors are locked?

WISH LIST!
- a large visible clock outside the sauna door
- A teen non-competitive swimming class that includes stroke development, and life guard training (great if it could combine with gym workouts to meet Conestoga HS EPE requirements), even better if students could take the bus to the y right from school!
This could create a pool of lifeguard and swim instructor candidates!
