How did we disappoint you and what can we do to make things right?

The dates I received service were March 20 and 21 2017. I asked them to clean out some construction debris at a building I am renovating, a downstairs and a basement. They came and gave an emailed estimate of 3 bed loads, at $525 each for a total of $1575, but was told it may only be 2 and a half bed loads. It would work out to basically 1 bed load for the upstairs and two bedloads for a large area of concrete in the basement. I responded to them that I had used Junk King many times in the past (through Junk King North) and that I usually received a price of $400 per load as a contractor. Brittany, the owner of Junk King South, agreed. They came the first day with only three staff and hardly any equipment. I had to run home and bring a wheel barrow for them to use and provide my own trash containers. I also had to go buy them water which they requested. They took several hours to do the upstairs area. It was not a particularly good job, there were areas of debris left over and a whole pile of animal feces left in one area. But they cleaned up for the most part the upstairs and I paid $400 as agreed. Brittany came out the first day and looked at the amount of work to be done and arranged for more workers for the next day. Later that day i received a call from Brittany that she had "called corporate" and that I was now going to be charged $500 a bed load, for some unknown reason. I had already booked time the day off my other work to get it done, so I agreed, which was unfair to say the least. Today, as agreed, they came back to do the basement. they came completely unprepared to haul concrete. I again had to provide my own wheel barrow, which they broke the tire of, and some other hauling equipment I had. I was told by one of the workers they really required two good cement wheelbarrows and three more shovels. They first took out a lot of wood which I wanted to keep, which was in a small pile of wood I told them to get to absolutely last. They then took about five hours to work in the basement. They didnt clean it up at all. The simply reduced the height of the area with debirs, while leaving its size the same. Its bizarre, no area got completely cleaned up, they left a bit of debris everywhere, and a lot of debris was still in the basement. They cleaned up maybe a quarter or a third of the debris. They then told me they had filled up one bed and half, and I owed them $750. Remember I was quoted basically $1000 for the basement. They had done a quarter of the work and charged almost the entire amount. And said they needed more days and many more bedloads to do finish the work. I felt really ripped off, because I was left with nothing cleaned up, a billl for almost the enitre amount I was told to budget, and spent the whole day looking after the project. I called Brittany, but she just screamed at me, and didnt apologize or try to make anything right. She told me she came the first day and saw how much stuff there was and knew that there was more bedloads, but she didnt tell me that was the case. Instead in our conversation, she faulted me for not knowing how many bedloads were required, but how am I supposed to know? I dont have any idea how much fits in a bedload. If she knew in advance, she should have told me right there how much it would be and how long it would take and send me an updated estimate. I was functioning on the estimate I received. This whole things was really unpleasant and unprofessional in every way.

I should not have to provide equipment to the workers. they should have proper equipment to do to the work in a timely manner. I should not have to provide water. I should not have to stay for hours watching the workers going. I should not be told an estimate that is way less than what they intend to charged. I should not have a job less than a quarter finished at almost the entire price I was quoted. That is of no value to me. I should not be argued with by the owner. I should not have animal feces left in the area they were removing debris. I should not be yelled at by the owner. I should not have the price per bedload increased 25% the night before I schedule work, that is highly unethical.

I have used Junk King North several times in the past, with good results. Obviously being treated like this I am unlikely to use Junk King (North or South) in the future.

To make it right I feel that I should be given atleast a partial refund for the basement, I was duped into beliveing their low estimate even though they new it was true. And worst yet, they upped the bedload price on me the night before. I feel they should come out again and properly finish the upstairs cleaning and do at least a bit more cleanup of the downstairs. I deserve an apology from the owner. I can't imagine whoever reads this really cares all that much, becuase that is the impression I got from my dealing with this business.

How did we disappoint you and what can we do to make things right?

Well, I actually already wrote a pretty lengthy message and sent it to you, but I would like to try to settle this between us before I share my story on Yelp and all those types of sites:

1. Your guys ripped curtains down, bending the brackets and rods. They also tore a childgate off the wall, bending that bracket as well. You literally only have to lift the gate to get it off the bracket if you want to take it off. I didn't ask them to throw away curtains or childgates in the first place.

2. You left two big oil stains in my driveway.

3. You left a bit of a mess in the driveway.

4. I was scheduled for Monday morning and didn't get a call about rescheduling until Monday morning when I was already on my way to the site and had taken off of work.

5. The original estimate was for somewhere around $1,300. The actual bill was $2,241. I hardly even see the point in getting the estimate.

6. Your guys took the cover to my attic off and threw it away instead of putting it back.

7. When I called corporate to complain, they told me to contact the franchise. When I spoke to the franchise, they deferred to corporate.

Overall, it was a stressful experience, Let me know if you would like to do something to make things right. Refunding some of my bill would be nice. Or giving me back my attic cover. Or cleaning the oil and my driveway at the property.

Fast easy online scheduling. Effective Communication/Customer service, Courteous and professional crew, call center representative as well as i spoke to them on several times, prior to my scheduled junk removal time, for general questions. Punctual on arrival. Fair quote. All members worked as a team , stayed true to the removal process, wasn't distracted by small talk. Proficient and cleaned up the outside area Of the rubbish when they were done! The entire process was PERFECT! I would gladly recommend Junk King to others. Thank you Junk King for relieving me of my heavy load!

They did exactly what they said they'd do. They came, gave me an estimate and started working as soon as I said "yes".What was taking me alone months to move, they hauled off inside of an hour. No games, they worked and then were gone. Both Reps were nice and courteous. Great service, they keep their word, and their prices are fair. No complaints.

How did we disappoint you and what can we do to make things right?

No one called to confirm the appointment or what type of items needed to get removed / recycled. It would have been better to know (or at least have an estimate) of what it would cost to have items removed. Instead an appointment was made, someone came out, removed items, and demanded payment. How would I know that the workers coming to pick up the items are charging an appropriate or accurate amount??
