What could we do to improve?

Once the swimming pool changing rooms are sorted I will 100% recommend. Appreciate the ongoing problems with this though.

It's great to have the swimming lessons back in full swing. I'm really impressed with the quality of the teaching and my son is really enjoying being back. Looking forward to bringing him to the Bouncy Castle and games over the summer - great idea!

How did we disappoint you and what can we do to make things right?

Poor customer service, managers abrupt and inflexible , I heard swimming lessons were to re start through grapevine of school friends even though they I had paid for them in advance.

What could we do to improve?

Changing facilities & general appearance (redecorate reception & principle public areas), having said all that, I rated as 8 as the Centre has improved since Halo too control.

How did we disappoint you and what can we do to make things right?

My family and I have been visiting Bridgnorth leisure centre for over thirty years. The fantastic swimming instructors taught me to swim and my son currently has swimming lessons at the centre. However since Halo took over the centre I have been disappointed in how we have been treated as customers. During the recent problems with the pool there was not enough communication about what was happening with the swimming lessons and when it did finally re open it took a long time to find out about lessons re-starting. I appreciate that is was a difficult situation but it wouldn't have taken much to have more regular contact. The biggest issue I have with Halo however is the new policy introduced about the age children can start swimming. Despite the pool being known for being very successful in teaching children of all ages (and adults) to swim suddenly since Halo took over children are no longer able to start swimming lessons at three as they have been able to in the past. It really surprises me that this decision has been taken and again makes me wonder about how much Halo values its customers. My son started at three and it really gave him confidence in the water from a young age. From what I have been told Halo consider three year olds to be unable to follow instructions during swimming lessons. As a teacher and a mother I am appalled at this ridiculous excuse as three year olds are able to follow instructions providing they are communicated properly. The staff at Bridgnorth leisure centre have always been very successful with the younger children and they flourish under their instruction in the water. At other leisure centres the parent is in the water with their three year old but Bridgnorth don't need to do that because they are experienced and knowledgeable. Halo need to have a bit more faith in their staff and believe in their abilities as much as we, as parents and customers, believe in them. My second child will be three in September and she will be starting swimming lessons unfortunately at the moment I am having to look at other options because my first choice - Bridgnorth is not available now until far too late. I want her to gain confidence in the water and I am not waiting two more years when she is ready now.

How did we disappoint you and what can we do to make things right?

The changing rooms are an issue. I don't like my child having to walk through the leisure centre in his trunks, especially when they come out, easy to slip over. Also there are no cubicles to get changed in, one of my sons is particularly shy and prefers getting changed privately. I realise that work is being done and I hope it won't go on for long or else we will look else where for swimming lessons.

How did we disappoint you and what can we do to make things right?

I am very disappointed that my child has gone without lessons for almost a year! I am very annoyed as I have had my child with you since three years of age and my second child was going to start with you and he was about to start when the reception staff said 'is he potty trained?'. He had been for a month but they said why don't you wait for the next term and start them then. I agreed and Halo had just taken over around that time and they changed the rule that they had to be of school age. If I had just put my child in when I wanted to he would have been having lessons with you as you honoured the children that had started!! The comments made by staff is that 3 year olds don't follow instructions, (strange has they had always taken children of that age before?) however, my child can almost swim now from taking him elsewhere, surely it about gaining confidence in the water with an instructor and it's a bonus if they learn to swim earlier. I'm sure you have lost my families because of this ridiculous rule which in turn has been another companies gain. I have remained loyal to Bridgnorth purely because of the swimming instructors, James and Sue are excellent instructors and that is the only reason I have remained with you. I have had my son on the list and have been waiting for him to start as soon as the refurb was completed. He still hasn't been given a place. Regarding the refurb, 1 week turned into 2, then a month and it went on from there. I have phoned several times and feel we were not informed properly as to how long the process would take. I am owed 6 weeks but have been unable to start my daughter, therefore feel I should still have the 6 weeks as I have remain loyal and really I think we should all be given a free month or an incentive to stay with you. You are lucky people have remained loyal, frankly I'm disappointed with you as a company and therefore would recommend you to others!!! Hope this helps and you actually take my comments on board.

What could we do to improve?

Dear Sir/Madam,

I attended the inflatable swimming session today at Bridgnorth Endowed Leisure Centre (2 - 3 pm) with my almost-three year old son and my brother and his five year-old daughter. This was a very busy session with the majority of attendees being children (under 16).

During the session we noticed that a member of staff was taking photos of the session on a mobile phone.

I teach in a college and our rules for taking photos of any of students, whether they are under 16 or adults, are very strict. We must obtain express permission from all students for any particular event and if they are under 16 then parental permission is also required. The expression permission makes it clear to individuals what the photos will be used for and where they will appear (i.e. website, newspaper article, etc.). We are also, under no circumstances, allowed to take photos on personal cameras; a college camera must be used. These rules protect both the students and staff.

At no time prior to us entering the session was our permission, or the permission of anyone else, sought for these photos. This individual shouldn't also have been taking any photos, even if permission had been given, on what looked like a personal mobile phone.

I did speak to an individual on the reception desk to highlight the fact that these photos shouldn't have been taken. One of the lifeguards who was present said that it was "Paul" who had been taking these photos. The individual on the desk was apologetic.

Can you please let me know what your policy is on the taking of photos during public swimming sessions (I should imagine that it is as strict, if not stricter, than those at my college)?

As we don't know why these photos were taken and for what reason as a minimum this individual must be seen to delete them off the phone he used, delete any copies that may have been distributed and under no circumstances must they be used for any purpose as no individual in them gave their consent.

I hope you deal with this issue swiftly and I would really appreciate a response to this message.

Kind regards,

Name removed.
